There Are Now More Than 1,000 Ford Ranger Raptor V6 Owners In The Philippines

Filipinos love the Ranger Raptor. They also love power too. That’s why it’s no surprise that there are now more than 1,000 owners of the Ranger Raptor 3.0 Twin Turbo V6; a year after it was launched in the market.

“The response to the Ranger Raptor V6 in its first year has been incredible,” says Pedro Simoes, Managing Director and President, Ford Philippines. “Customers have embraced it as both a serious performance pickup and a trusted everyday companion, and their stories show how strongly the truck fits Filipino lifestyles.”

Engineered by Ford Performance, the Ranger Raptor V6 features a 3.0-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost engine paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission delivering 397 horsepower and 583 Nm of torque. The truck is supported by FOX 2.5-inch Live Valve Internal Bypass Shock Absorbers and up to seven selectable drive modes, including Baja mode for high-speed off-road driving. These technologies allow customers to enjoy confident and exciting journeys from city roads to rough terrains.

System integrator Angel Santiago is one of the early owners of the Raptor V6, and his work involves regular client visits which often required long drives. After seeing the Raptor V6 at the launch, he decided to add it to his garage despite already having a 2.0L diesel version. “I have two identical-looking Raptors – both black, and both have Monday coding plates.” Yet, he doesn’t see it as a problem. As much as he can, he uses his V6 to travel between his home, his office, showrooms, and project sites. “No matter the distance, the Raptor V6 turned my client visits into something I look forward to,” he says.

Ivan Capati is another proud owner. He shared that his most memorable drive so far was his first solo trip to La Union and Baguio over three days, taken in heavy rain with some sections of the route flooded. “Despite the adverse weather condition, I never felt unsafe at any point. Mind you, I usually bring someone with me in case something happened and I would need help. This time, however, the Raptor V6 felt planted, powerful, and comfortable the whole way, so I never felt stressed,” he proudly shared.

For Roger Aventurado, a Raptor car club member, the V6 represents the latest step in a long relationship with Ford. He proudly admitted owning multiple Ranger variants from 2018 onward, before finally getting a Raptor V6 earlier this year. He now drives his Raptor V6 nearly every day and considers it his best Raptor yet in terms of performance and presence on the road. “I have owned several Ford pickups since 2018, but the Raptor V6 is on a different level. It is the first pickup that truly feels like a reward for all those years of work,” he says.

For Ken Chee, another member of a local Raptor club, owning a V6 is the natural progression of a long relationship with Ford. Prior to acquiring the 3.0-liter version, he owned various iterations of the Ranger Raptor. That didn’t stop him from getting a V6 in August this year. “I already know the Raptor Bi-Turbo Diesel is a good ride, but I was pleasantly surprised with the 3.0-liter version. You can actually feel a next-level difference, especially when traveling on rough roads.”

And then, there’s Zainal Limpao, another longtime Ford loyalist who alternates driving his V6 and his Ford Everest. He was among the first batch of Raptor V6 buyers during the launch last year, and according to him, it was money well-spent. A round-trip drive from Cavite to Pangasinan validated his choice. “I had my family with me during the trip, and it was raining most of the time. The all-wheel drive and the V6 power helped a lot, so what should’ve been a long and grueling trip was actually a smooth and enjoyable ride,” he shared.

  2. How many byd sharks were sold? Spec wise they the V6 raptor and shark are competitors. I see more V6 raptors on the road than sharks. So I guess people would rather have a gas guzzling and significantly more expensive pick up than the byd

    1. A new player's not gonna take that much market share in such a short amount of time (how long has it been since the Shark's release, just over 8 months now?) over a long established brand.

There are factors in play that aren't on paper (where you can compare price & specs) and businesses know that, and if they can't disrupt the segment immediately then the next best thing they can do is slowly building up brand recognition.

  3. Ford wants to increase the price of the Ranger Raptor V6 by around 3 Million up to 3.1 Million Pesos but they can't do it yet as they fear theyll lose more customers if they do that.

  5. The V6 should be a very famous power train. Like I said, there simply no replacement for displacement.

  6. Ford trucks are simply better than the competition in almost every iteration. The main difference and why Ford trucks and SUVs suit the Philippines is better suspensions. They can give you a smooth ridewhen the road is good and handle all the rough roads the Philippines can ditch out.

  7. There are now 1000 more vehicles that do not fit philippine parking spaces.. Most of these drivers do not care to give space for adjacent vehicles

  8. If ford is really unreliable, why are people still buying their products?

  9. Our family have bought many Fords and so far they are all reliable. Our old boxy Everest is still working almost as old as my son. I noticed that modified SUVs and pickups are the ones that usually break. I kept all of our vehicles stock and serviced by ford since dealership is walking distance from our house. Although I do hear horror stories from friends with similar vehicles. So case to case basis

    1. I know someone... but it's not his dream pickup per se. It's like he just wants to try owning it. He has lots of money to spare by the way. I think he can afford to experiment. But for us mortal beings, I think we want to stick to the safe side.

    2. Yeah buying a byd could turn one's dream into a nightmare. Byd ok for the rich who wont mind throwing money in the wind. For ordinary pinoy car buyers jap brand nlang muna.

    3. Is it only rich people driving around in the basic version of the sedan Seal 5? You can pretend that's what is happening but there are ordinary pinoy buyers who don't think like you.
