County Drives Hyundai's Leadership In PH Bus Category

Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI) has maintained its position as a strong challenger in the Philippine commercial vehicle (CV) industry towards the end of 2021.

The entire CV industry grew by 26.2 percent or an additional 2,218 units versus last year with reported sales reaching 10,668 units. Hyundai CV captured 8.8 percent of the overall market share and achieved the highest overall growth at 206.9 percent, compared to 2020, making the brand 4th place in the industry.

In the Bus segment, the top weight category, which is Category IV-A with Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of 6T-9T grabs the major share with 68.5 percent. Hyundai CV leads this category with its dependable minibus, the Hyundai County.

The County remains one of Hyundai’s best-selling bus models in the country, winning the trust of private and government establishments for its efficiency, durability, and versatility as a people mover.

Hyundai CV’s growth is likewise shored up by the remarkable sales of its roster of trucks and buses, such as the Hyundai MedTRX refrigerated truck series, Hyundai Xcient, Hyundai Universe, and the Hyundai HD50S and HD48 GT Modern PUVs.

“2021 was a challenging but fulfilling year for Hyundai Trucks and Buses,” said HARI President and CEO Ms. Ma. Fe Perez-Agudo. “The success of the brand is a true testament to our unwavering commitment to keep the Filipino entrepreneur spirit alive and well during these uncertain times. Through our world-class portfolio of Hyundai commercial vehicles backed by ever-reliable After Sales services, we are even more focused to help move industries and navigate the economy while upholding the safety and welfare of all.”

  1. Hyundai has been silent for now and their sales has been declining since last year, I think Hyundai Motor Company of Korea must take over the Distributorship and Assembly of some vehicles here in the Philippines. And somehow, the struggling distributor must focus only on Changan cars, if Hyundai has a new owner or distributor, it will make a Comeback on the Top 5 Best selling car brands.
