Mitsubishi Inaugurates New Paint Factory In Thailand

Mitsubishi Motors has inaugurated its new 12-billion yen (USD 100 million) paint factory in Thailand which will realize improved quality and production efficiency while reducing overall environmental impact.

The new paint factory, located in Laem Chabang replaces Mitsubishi’s current paint factory and will be one of the largest in Thailand. Ensuring the highest quality paint process, the plant features technologies such as robots, automated sealing, and the use of electrostatic spray guns.

Mitsubishi Motors Thailand has also invested in solar panels that can reduce CO2 emissions by more than 1,700 tons per year.

At present, the Laem Chabang facility has an annual production capacity with more than 400,000 units and makes five models: Triton (Strada), Pajero Sport (Montero Sport), Mirage, Mirage Attrage (Mirage G4), and Outlander PHEV.

The three models to benefit from the new paint facility will be the Outlander PHEV, Pajero Sport (Montero Sport), and Triton (Strada).
