What Do You Think Of The Mitsubishi Mirage Ralliart?

Mitsubishi is quickly expanding its Ralliart offering by decking out the Mirage in racy attire. Going on sale in Thailand, it joins the Triton (Strada) and Pajero Sport (Montero Sport) in getting the sporty treatment.

Only available in Whited Diamond and Red Metallic, the Mirage Ralliart comes with a black roof, front grille, alloy wheels, door mirrors, and rear spoiler. It’s further spruced up with side decals and mud flaps with the Ralliart logo, and black over fenders with carbon grain. The last one is supposed to add a touch of “tough driving” to the Mirage’s sharp style. Inside, the changes are completed by two-tone red and black seats and floor mats with the Ralliart logo.

Sadly, Mitsubishi seems to be closely following Toyota’s strategy with their treatment to Gazoo Racing badged vehicles by leaving the Mirage’s mechanicals alone. For that, it gets the same 1.2-liter MIVEC 3-cylinder engine putting out 78 horsepower and 100 Nm of torque.

That said, at least Mitsubishi did equip the Mirage with some cutting-edge safety equipment. It now has Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM) for low-speeds and a radar-based front misacceleration mitigation system.

While the Mirage Ralliart may seem like something you’ll only see in motor shows (it’ll make its debut at the Bangkok Motor Show, after all), Mitsubishi will be selling this variant. It’ll be available in Thailand first with other markets, probably the Philippines included, to follow.

  1. Still the same hp and torque.
The respective 1.2 engines of the Suzuki Swift and Honda Brio will always be better.

  2. I don't see the point of OEMs giving their low budget cars aesthetic racing treatments.. looks "ricey" IMO..

  3. Useless. Only serves to make the car ricey.

    4. Are all Geely fans really as rabid and cranky like you?

  4. I rememher the 2010 Lancer EX Ralliart sold here in the Philippines, it didn't have much stickers and looked almost like a normal Lancer, but it had a lot more power and improved suspension. Though overpriced, one could almost describe it as a sleeper. This Mirage ralliart, on the other hand, is all show no go, the complete opposite.

    1. Sucks that it was released way too early to ride on the wave of disposable income from the burgeoning BPO industry/MSME back then. That's why there's so many WRX's right now in the PH. It was basically what the WRX is to the WRX STI, a detuned EVO.

  5. Can Mitsubishi just bring back the Lancer, once and for all?

    1. Lancer is all but discontinued on the global Mitsu lineup. Exception is, Grand Lancer which is offered in Taiwan and in Mainland China (but Mitsu PH is still sticking to the global lineup. The Grand Lancer is only exclusive to those countries mentioned.)

    2. Hopefully mitsubishi ph brings the grand lancer here cause most taiwan or china manufactured cars here sell like hot cakes due to the features being given for the asking price

  6. Mirage Hatchback was phased out here in the Philippines. I don't think MMPC will reborn the unit. Dead for good. I wish they bring the Eclipse Cross SUV to match the Invasion of china Made Crossover.

    1. The Eclipse Cross could be a nice addition to the local lineup but I doubt MMPC will have much success in selling that model. MMPC has struggled selling any other crossovers since the 2nd gen Montero came to our shores. Montero Sport killed the Outlander and while the ASX thrived initially, sales dwindled when it began to have Montero-like pricing and was also killed off.

    2. Keane Calimlim See your grammar has too much capitalization meaning you have autism and also make a research first before you comment, the Mirage hatch is still being sold here in the PH-market and it is still listed in their website. Look at it now.

  8. IMHO, a stock Suzuki Swift looks much better. Not to mention a much more dynamic drive.

  10. I agree. It's like something you'd purchase during a midlife crisis when you want to look cool but don't have the guts to go fast. Walang maibubuga so sa panlabas na lang nakafocus
