What Do You Think Of The 2023 Subaru Legacy's Design?

After refreshing its closely related sibling, the Outback just a few months ago, Subaru has now done the same with the Legacy sedan for the 2023 model year.

The updated look brings a new front bumper, larger grille, and redesigned front head- and fog lights to the Legacy. According to Subaru, it’s meant to give it a lower and wider stance. Inside, it stays relatively unchanged except for standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on models equipped with the tablet-style 11.6-inch touchscreen.

Powertrain-wise, the Legacy sticks with its two engines—a normally-aspirated 182-horsepower 2.5-liter boxer and a turbocharged 260-horsepower 2.4-liter boxer. Both are connected to a Lineartronic CVT system driving all four wheels.

New for 2023 is an updated version of Subaru’s EyeSight system. Like the system now equipped in the Outback, it adds lane centering to its adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency steering. A third wide-angle mono camera, meanwhile, expands the system’s field of view while also enabling it to recognize pedestrians and cyclists sooner. It can also scan intersections at low speeds.

Subaru also improved the Legacy’s braking performance thanks to a new electric brake booster.

With the Philippines discontinuing the Legacy, it’s unlikely that they’ll be changing their mind with this refreshed sedan. For fans of Subaru sedans, they can expect the all-new Subaru WRX sometime in June.
