Is This The Price Of The Toyota GR Yaris 8-speed AT For The Philippines?

Update: Toyota Motor Philippines has finally launched the new GR Yaris (3/6).

In January, we reported that Toyota Motor Philippines will launch the refreshed GR Yaris thanks to documents that appeared on the LTO website. These documents were soon substantiated by eagle-eyed enthusiasts who manage to spot the hot hatch being photographed (and videoed) prior to its market launch (so much for secrets, huh?)

Now, it’s all but confirmed as a teaser appeared on the Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippines social media page showing off the refreshed GR Yaris’ dramatic new taillight design (see the post below).

After all the smoke and mirrors, did Toyota Motor Philippine spoil the biggest surprise by inadvertently leaking the price on their website as well?

Pointed out by reader Revo Angelo Guison, Toyota Motor Philippines implemented an across-the-board price increase for all its models effective March 1, 2025. Most saw an average of P 6,000 to P 10,000 increase in pricing save for three models: the Tamaraw which didn’t see any movement in pricing, the GR Supra which saw a P 183,000 increase alongside the silent launch of the 6-speed manual on March 3, and the GR Yaris.

Curiously, Toyota Motor Philippines bumped up the pricing of the GR Yaris from P 2,940,000 to P 3,391,000 (P 3,411,000 for the Emotional Red color). If you’re bad at math, that’s a whopping P 451,000 increase. This doesn’t make sense if the reason would be just down to foreign exchange, shipping, and all that. What makes sense is that this is the actual price of the refreshed GR Yaris even if the website still shows the pre-facelift one. Of course, we don’t know if the P 3.391-million price tag already refers to 8-speed automatic.

Given all the changes found in the new GR Yaris, the substantial price increase is somewhat justified. You can check out the differences between the new and original GR Yaris here.

These developments point out to the likelihood that the new GR Yaris, equipped with the 8-speed automatic, will make its local debut at the first leg of the Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippine Cup (or at least the lead up to it). Since it’s happening this March 20 to 22, the wait won’t be that long.

  7. In every news even not related to China. Chinese fanboys seems to insert themselves into the convo. That's how insecure they are. Stick to the 1000% sales increase and new dealerships opening soon news. So sad
