Ford Philippines Posts 38-Percent Growth in February

Ford Philippines today announced its best-ever February performance with retail sales rising 38 percent year-over-year to 1,759 units, led by the EcoSport, Ranger, Explorer and Fiesta nameplates.

“We’re continuing to see positive customer response to our full showroom of global Ford vehicles in the Philippines,” said Kay Hart, managing director, Ford Philippines. “Our lineup is appealing to, and meeting the needs and requirements of such a wide range of work and lifestyles, and delivering the safety, quality, fuel efficiency, smart technology, and value for money our customers expect from Ford.”

The popular all-new EcoSport contributed to the record February with retail sales of 652 units. Since being launched in the Philippines last April, the EcoSport compact urban SUV has helped to define a whole new segment in the country.

“Built on our global B-segment platform, the EcoSport urban SUV combines small-car practicality with the agility of an SUV to deliver a segment-leading package of quality, safety, fuel-economy and value,” explained Hart.

The class-defining Ranger – the best-selling pickup truck in the Philippines in 2014 – delivered February retail sales that rose 12 percent year-over-year to 725 units. Strong demand continues across the Ranger’s full lineup in the Philippines of 13 automatic- and manual-transmission variants.

“The Ranger continues to set the benchmark for a versatile and reliable pick-up truck that will suit the respective needs of Filipino customers, whether for work, play or both,” said Hart.

The sporty Fiesta notched sales of 160 units in February as customers continue to appreciate the high-performance 1.0L EcoBoost engine, which delivers class-leading fuel efficiency and emissions levels.

Ford’s SUV lineup also contributed to the strong February performance, with the premium Explorer delivering sales of 99 units. The high-performance Explorer Sport with a powerful 3.5L V6 EcoBoost engine has sleek design and is packed with the latest smart technology, including PowerFold third-row seats and inflatable rear seat belts.

Ford plans to continue the expansion of its nationwide dealer network to 40 locations this year, helping support growth and serve an expanding base of customers with world-class customer and ownership experiences. New dealership openings are planned for Malolos, Sta Rosa, Ormoc, and Palawan.

“We are excited to make our brand even more accessible for Filipinos across the country, and to continue delivering the very best Ford customer and ownership experience,” said Hart.
