Ford Celebrates Record First Half of 2015


Ford Philippines today announced it’s best-ever performance for the month of June with retail sales rising 10 percent year-over-year to 1,870 units.

The exceptional month was led by continued demand for the EcoSport, Ranger and Explorer, and while Ford is currently transitioning to the all-new Everest - one of its best-selling nameplates - which will be officially launched in September.

The June total capped an all-time record first-half performance for Ford in the Philippines with sales increasing 18 percent to 10,427 units.

“We’re continuing to be a leading brand of choice for Filipino customers across the country, and it’s so exciting to see our global Ford vehicles, particularly Ranger and EcoSport, continue to build on their success by appealing to an even wider range of customers’ lives and lifestyles,” said Kay Hart, managing director, Ford Philippines.

The segment-defining Ranger continues to be Ford’s top-selling model in the Philippines. Its June sales rose 26 percent year-over-year to 755 units.

Ranger has remained the country’s best-selling pickup truck this year, with sales jumping 32 percent to 4,327 units. Ranger was the best-selling pickup in the Philippines in 2014.

The popular EcoSport delivered its best month since being launched in the Philippines last year with retail sales rising 59 percent year-over-year to 767 units. Year-to-date sales of the compact

SUV now total 4,133 units, making EcoSport Ford’s second best-seller.

The premium Explorer SUV recorded sales that increased 24 percent year-over-year to 110 units. Blending stylish comfort and a suite of advanced safety technologies, the Explorer is equipped with either a 2.0L EcoBoost or 3.5L V6 engine to deliver power and performance.

The sporty Fiesta delivered sales of 117 units in June, with the high-performance 1.0L EcoBoost engine continuing to attract attention in the market. The 1.0L EcoBoost engine delivers the power and performance of a traditional 1.6L engine with fuel economy gains of up to 20 percent.

Ford’s award-winning engine was again accorded multiple awards at the recently-held 2015 International Engine of the Year Awards in Germany.

The new Mustang achieved retail sales of 48 units during its second month of deliveries. The global appeal of this sixth-generation pony car continues to attract both current and new-to-Ford customers who are inspired by its unique combination of style, performance and affordability.

Ford continues its nationwide dealership expansion with the opening of Ford Sta. Rosa and Ford Ormoc in July, bringing the number of authorized dealers to 38 locations. Ford remains on track to open 40 dealerships by the end of the year.
