Mercedes-Benz PH Launches 2022 E-Class For P 5.390M (w/ Specs)

Auto Nation Group (ANG), the official distributor of Mercedes-Benz in the Philippines, launches the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

With more than 2,000 units sold in the Philippines since 2005 (when ANG took over the distributorship of Mercedes-Benz), the new 2022 E-Class aims to carry that success in the luxury sedan leadership. It has undergone a comprehensive update, bringing with it new intelligent features, enhanced dynamics, and fresh appearance. The tenth generation of the E-Class set styling trends in 2016 with its clean yet emotionally appealing design and an exclusive, high-quality interior. This emotionally appealing and at the same time intelligent combination has proven to be successful; it’s a formula the German luxury carmaker aims to continue with this update.

“The new E-Class offers a refined sportiness, impressive design, and dynamism. It embodies a synthesis of emotion and intelligence. It is loaded with next-generation driver assistance systems, comfort features and safety technologies, that bring luxury experience to new levels and giving an even stronger impression.” says Mr. Frankie Ang, Chief Operating Officer at Auto Nation Group, Inc.

For its refresh, the new E-Class is made more sophisticated, sporty, and confidently stylish. Its many enhancements are wrapped in a timelessly modern design. The new front end with revised grille plays a key role in the fresh appearance. It has been redesigned with radiator trim with diamond pins in chrome and insert in high-gloss black. Up front it also gets a pair of redesigned headlamps equipped with LED High Performance headlights. Out back, the taillamps have also been updated with its two-piece LED taillamps that wrap horizontally around the rear body to make the E-Class appear wider and stronger. It also features a new geometric-designed pattern for the LEDs, replacing the crystalline optic of the previous design.

For the Philippine market, the E-Class comes with the sporty AMG Line body styling. For that, it comes with standard 19-inch AMG 5-twin spoke light alloy wheels painted in tantalite gray. It also has subtly widened wheel arches.

Inside, apart from improved cabin materials and finishes, the 2022 E-Class ups the technology. It features dual 12.3-inch displays arranged side-by-side for a wider appearance. Moreover, it is equipped with the latest generation of the MBUX multimedia system that caters to voice commands. The new multifunction sports steering wheel in Nappa leather with touch control panels combines fine materials with innovative ease of operation. The infotainment system also offers seamless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration for a more hands-free driving experience.

Powering the Philippines’s sole E-Class variant, the E 200 AMG is a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. The powerplant produces 197 horsepower at 5,500 to 6,100 rpm and 320 Nm of torque from 1,650 to 4,000 rpm. Zero to 100 km/h takes about 7.4 seconds, while fuel consumption is pegged at 14.49 km/L in a mixed urban/highway setting.

Mercedes-Benz has always the been at the forefront of safety innovations in the automobile industry. The new E-Class is loaded with safety features and driver assistance technologies that keep both driver and passengers safe while on the road.

The new E-Class has an impressive list of safety features such as PRE-SAFE system, Attention Assist, Active Brake Assist, Urban Guard vehicle protection that compromises an anti-theft alarm system plus tow-away protection that enables to detect changes with the movement of the vehicle. It is also equipped with Active Parking Assist with an advance reversing camera to provide support to the driver.

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class comes in the following colors: Black, Graphite Gray, High-tech Silver, Manufaktur Hyacinth Red, Mojave Silver, Nautic Blue, Polar White , Selenite Gray, and Obsidian Black.

It comes with a suggested retail price of P 5,390,000.

  1. I think Lane Departure Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Blind Spot Monitoring are missing in the E-Class.
