2023 Ford Ranger Starts Production

The wait won’t be long. Ford has announced that the first batch of next-generation Ranger units have rolled off the assembly line. The first batch of units is destined for Australia, where retail sales there start by June.

For the Philippine market, the Ranger is still expected to hit the market sometime between July to August. However, COVID-19-related lockdowns at its suppliers in China has already caused Ford to release a bulletin warning of delays and short supplies. Ford says 91 suppliers and 393 unique parts used on the Ranger are affected.

One silver lining though is that Ford will try to manage the delays by adding a second shift at its assembly plants in Thailand. The production boost is due to Mazda shifting switching from Ford to Isuzu as its OE supplier for its all-new BT-50.

Ford also upgraded its Thailand plant last December to the tune of USD 900 million. The company is almost doubling the number of robots at its plants bringing the level of automation at its plants to 80 percent (for Ford Thailand Manufacturing).

Are you excited for the arrival of the next-generation Ford Ranger?
