Mitsubishi Motor PH Launches 2023 Xpander. Nationwide Tour Kicks Off Today

Mitsubishi Motors Philippines officially launches the 2023 Xpander with their Reimagine Your Ride: The Mitsubishi Test Drive Tour.

Starting in Manila on Friday, May 20 to Sunday, May 22 at the SM Mall of Asia’s Block 16 Concert Grounds, the Xpander will head on a nationwide tour on the following dates:
  • Cebu – June 24 to 25
  • Davao – July 15 to 17
  • Laguna – August 12 to 14
  • Pampanga – August 26 to 28
The 2023 Xpander brings a more advanced and progressive styling coupled with enhanced levels of comfort and convenience features (read our preview here).

To reap, outside, it features the revised Dynamic Shield front fascia design complete with a new black metallic radiator grille with mesh inserts. T-shaped LED headlights give it a more robust appearance, backed up by the new three-dimensional skid guard. On the sides, noticeable are the bigger 17-inch alloy wheels and larger side sill garnish.

Inside, the Xpander adopts the Horizontal Axis design. Complemented by soft padded accents with real stitching, the country’s best-selling MPV levels up. A brand-new instrument cluster, steering wheel, digital-type AC cluster, 7-inch infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and electronic parking brake with auto hold complete the changes.

Underneath, the 2023 Xpander has changes done to its steering and suspension for a flatter ride. Enlarged rear shock absorbers and high-performance valves in the dampers improve overall control, while a steering wheel return control improves low speed maneuverability.

Color availability is depending on the variant:
  • GLX 1.5 MT / 1.5 AT – Jet Black Mica, Graphite Gray Metallic, Blade Silver Metallic (new for 2023)
  • GLS 1.5 AT – Graphite Gray Metallic, Blade Silver Metallic (new for 2023), Quartz White Pearl, Red Metallic
It comes at the following prices:

  • GLX 1.5 AT – P 1,090,000
  • GLS 1.5 AT – P 1,160,000
During the test drive tour, buyers can take the new Xpander through a specially designed test drive track simulating varied road conditions.

“2022 may still be a challenging year for the automotive industry but Mitsubishi Motors remains optimistic for better sales results. We are confident that we will be able to re-excite the market with New Xpander that has received major improvements that we are sure will be very much appreciated,” according to Mr. Takeshi Hara, President and CEO of MMPC. “With this latest iteration, Filipinos are surely to fall in love with the Xpander all over again. We have further enhanced the qualities that have made it the number 1 7-seater MPV in the country turning into a reimagined ride that will truly awaken anyone’s adventurous spirit.”

He adds, “On that same note is why we are also kicking off our regional test drive tour alongside the launch of the New Xpander. As the economy reopens, we want to reignite the love for outdoors among our Filipino customers and show to them how and why Mitsubishi cars are the perfect adventure buddies. One of our goals for the year is to reach out to more customers outside the walls of our dealerships. So, customers can expect us to be in their cities whether Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.”

The Reimagine Your Ride: The Mitsubishi Test Drive Tour will start in Manila on May 20, Friday at SM Mall of Asia’s Block 16 Concert Grounds. A limited-edition gift awaits the first 150 individuals who will pre-register at Mitsubishi Motors’ official website.

Other treats from the brand and its sponsors, Caltex, Sonax, Little Trees as well as Overland Kings, are also in store and can be enjoyed by the whole family. Apart from getting the chance to test drive the New Xpander, customers can also avail of the P 98,000 low down payment scheme for the GLS Automatic variant during their visit.

    2. That's how a CVT works... it stays at a fixed RPM. "Hard to shift" on a CVT doesn't exist

    3. The other version of the xpander uses jatco cvt. That's right, a freaking jatco cvt. Be careful what you wish for.
