Confirmed: Hyundai Stargazer Arriving Before End Of 2022

Aside from the Ioniq 5 EV and refreshed Palisade, Hyundai Motor Philippines will be launching the Stargazer MPV before the end of the year. This was revealed by Mr. Cecil Capacete, HMPH’s managing director.

The Stargazer carries what Hyundai calls a Sleek One Box shape. Along with the One Curve design, it makes for an optimized cabin height. The curve also offers the impression of a taller and wider vehicle too. Upfront, it has full-width horizontal DRL which is inspired by the fact that Southeast Asia is located near the equator. At the back, the rear lamps feature a distinctive “H” design which emphasizes it as a Hyundai product even from a distance. It’s also meant to embody the connection between East and West.

Inside, the Stargazer’s design revolves around Multifunctional Storage Space and this peppers the passengers with versatile storage, some cleverly hidden from sight. Some include small trays, cup holders, extra pockets, picnic tables, and more. The front passengers are treated to a slim, wide dashboard, while for the second row, it gets Captain’s Seats. It will also bring cutting-edge technologies too such as 4.2-inch TFT color LCD instrument cluster, an 8-inch display audio system with smartphone connectivity, and a wireless charger.

Powering the Stargazer is a 1.5-liter MPI 4-cylinder engine good for 115 horsepower and 144 Nm of torque. This is then mated to a CVT gearbox with a built-in step logic (IVT). A 6-speed manual is also available.

The Stargazer MPV will be sourced from Indonesia. More information on the Stargazer MPV will be revealed closer to its market launch, but it will likely make an appearance at the Philippine International Motor Show in September.

    1. It seems though it is however still too early. Esp since design is based on the pre-facelifted Xpander. Unless it is priced way competitive otherwise it has nothing to offer as a differentiator. Suzuki will make their incoming mid-cycle XL7 unique with mild hybrid.

    1. It seems only the H100 and H350 remained in assembly though...

    2. There's no more local assembly. The H350 stopped first then the Accent. The H100 is now imported (like the Kia K-Series) by HMPH and not HARI.
