Here Are The Full Specs Of The 2025 Jaecoo J7 SHS. Yours Starting At P 1,449,000

Jaecoo Philippines just lowered the entry point to their brand with the introduction of the J7 SHS with Super Hybrid Technology. Their new 5-seater hybrid SUV still packs a punch without burning a hole in your pocket as it starts at just P1,449,000.

The J7 SHS is fitted with a 1.5-liter turbo engine and an electric motor with an 18.3-kWh battery. There’s a total of 275 horsepower on tap, with 365 Nm of pull. All in all it can go up to 1,489 kilometers based on Jaecoo Philippines’s testing on local roads, although you can go purely electric mobility for up to 90 kilometers. It also has a thermal efficiency of 44.5 percent and a combined fuel consumption of 24.4km/L.

Jaecoo is particularly proud of the battery in the J7. They claim that the design is anti-collision, fire resistant, dustproof, waterproof, cold-resistant, and has anti-electric leakage. Charging time is also good with AC charging from 25 to 100 percent in 160 minutes. Fast charging can be as high as 40 kW with 30 t0 80 percent done in 20 minutes. The J7 also supports a 3.3-kW Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function for your outdoor activity needs.

The Jaecoo J7 continues the boxy design of the EJ6, followed by an imposing stance that’s further emphasized with the commanding grille. The side profile is extra discreet with the pop-out door handles, while the rear has the right number of lines to make the flat tailgate a bit interesting. Up top is a panoramic sunroof while at the back is a powered tailgate with hands-free function.

Inside is a modern cabin with lots of space. The lower Comfort trim has a black theme while the Premium trim is clad in brown upholstery. There’s a 10.25 digital instrument cluster accompanied by either a 13.2-inch or 14.8-inch vertical touchscreen at the center of the dash. Dual-zone climate control is also standard for both variants, as well as 6-way powered driver’s seat. The layout in the dashboard is also very minimalist as most controls are now in the touchscreen.

Safety is also packed to the brim in the J7. It’s available with 6 or 7 airbags, depending on the variant, while things like Hill Start Assist, Hill Descent Control, Speed Limit Warning, and Tire Pressure Monitoring are standard for both trims.

Meanwhile, the higher Premium trim gets Advanced Driver Assist features with up to 18 functions. It includes a 360-camera system, Forward Collision Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, and Intelligent Evasion Steering among others.

The new Jaecoo J7 will be available in Granite White, Basalt Black, Amazonite Blue, and Pearl Silver with a black interior color for the Comfort and brown interior color for the Premium trim. It starts at P1,449,000 for Comfort while the Premium is at P1,549,000 with an introductory price of P 1,399,000 and P 1,499,000 respectively that’s good until September 15, 2025.

    1. Prospective buyers may be swayed by the high horsepower/torque and fuel economy figures. However, that tactic has seemingly not worked with the BAIC's Bronco Sport knockoff, which continues to be a slow seller.

  2. Note that the just released HEV Ford Territory is a China designed and made vehicle, while the J7 originating from the same country, is a PHEV.

In terms of features you'd have to compare the TOTL P1.599M HEV Territory Titanium X to the P1.499M J7 Premium to make it a fairly even comparison.

If the priority is saving more money on fueling the vehicle then the J7 has the advantage cuz it can run a practical 68 -72 Kms (don't believe the manufacturers claim of 90) on pure EV Mode which means one saves so much more as electricity is much much cheaper as a power source.

If space & cargo room are high priorities than the Territory maybe the one to consider, but at P100K more based on their SRP.

Note that the J7 utilizes an LFP battery (18.3Kw) which is lees expensive to produce than a NCM battery but is a much safer battery than a NCM battery. LFP batteries are proven to have much longer battery cycling capability as well as less battery degradation than NCM batteries. An LFP battery is better suited to warm climates like the Philippines. The Territory's battery is standard sized (1.83Kw perhaps) Lithium Ion (NCM). NCM batteries are the choice for performance EVs as NCM batteries are more energy dense.

One advantage of the Territory is that it has a useable spare tire. The J7 only has tire repair kit. Also, one does not have to charge the HEV Territory which is more convenient, but does not save one as much as a PHEV which one has to charge in order to maximize fuel savings.

We have both an HEV and PHEV Chinese Crossovers and both are good vehicles though we prefer the PHEV as we don't mind charging the vehicle at home and prioritize the savings.

Btw, last time I checked Ford Philippines charged a lot for PMS service.

Jaecoo is a sub-brand of Chery. Chinese automotive journalists predict that Chery will be one of the 5 remining survivors of the Chines Automotive Industry in 2030.

At the end of the day, buy what you like and like what you buy. Don't get stuck with a vehicle which makes you cringe every time you use or see it.

Don't forget to Test Drive/Ride before you buy. Please make sure the tires are set at the correct manufacturer's recommended pressures
    prior to a Test Drive/Ride.

    1. The mere fact that we’re comparing the looks of Chinese vehicles with western cars just shows how much of a long climb Chinese brands still have to go through to develop their own distinctive designs.

    2. Not exactly surprising since they've brought over many lead designers from the west but you could also look at it from the other end and by that I mean the fact that they are being compared with western cars means these cars have a 'familiarity' to them making them more appealing to the general public.

Even western cars copy each other, watch enough car reviews on youtube of western cars and you'll see them bringing up comparisons from other brands and cars that were last produced decades ago (and the resemblance is pretty close sometimes too) 😅

  7. If i have a 1.5M+, I'll go for Corolla Cross G HEV, doesn't matter, ain't trust chinese brand, in my opinion

    1. Corolla cross G now at 1.3M net of 200k discounts. At 1.5M you can now get a corolla cross V with full ADAS net of 200k discount

    2. That's the old discount numbers (ended in July). For August, it's now 150k for all Cross variants. So the G would be 1,364,000 and the V at 1,639,000. Not as good a deal as before.
