In a statement posted on its social media page, Toyota Motor Philippines and Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippines say that they are suspending all sanctioned motorsports activities and will place all its upcoming racing events on hold until further notice.

Toyota Motor Philippines and Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippines are supporting nationwide conservation efforts and are committed to doing their part.

Another racing series, the Philippine National Rally Championship, which was supposed to kick off this March 27 to 28 in Lubang, Occidental Mindoro is also postponing the event until further notice.

While not an AAP sanction event, the first leg of the 2026 Makabayan Cup has also been postponed. Before this announcement, defending champion Mazda Philippines pulled out. The first leg of the 2026 Makabayan Cup was supposed to be the 4-hour Kagitingan Cup slated this April 18 to 19 at the Batangas Racing Circuit.

According to Steven Tan, President of Mazda Philippines, their decision to withdraw from the first leg of the endurance racing series is also to be one with the country’s energy conservation efforts in light of the current volatile situation.

Meanwhile, the AAP, recognizing that motorsports is still predominantly dependent on petroleum-based fuels, acknowledges its responsibility to support national energy conservation efforts and help ensure supply stability during this critical period. The AAP will monitor developments and will issue updates once conditions allow for the resumption of normal operations.
