Toyota Vios is Auto Focus People's Choice Back-to-Back Winner

The Philippine automotive market’s best-selling model, the Toyota Vios subcompact sedan once again received the much-coveted “Automobile of the Year” title at the Awards Night of the “2012-2013 Auto Focus People’s Choice Awards” (AFPCA) held last Thursday, November 7, 2013 at The Venue of the SM Mall of Asia. The Vios accomplished the first ever back-to-back win for the top award in the 9-year history of the AFPCA, which was first launched in 2005.

The first-ever CX-60 is something Mazda must get right; after all, it’s representative of their premium aspirations. Though some may say that it started with the current Mazda3 and CX-30, those vehicles didn’t command much of a price premium over the competition to warrant raised eyebrows. The CX-60, on the other hand, nips at the heels of real luxury with its P 2.890-million price tag. BMW to Recall 1 Million Vehicles for Fire Risk

Reuters reports that BMW is recalling approximately 1 million vehicles for two separate issues that involve fire risks. Although the recall is currently limited to the North American market, BMW AG says that the recall may spread to other markets globally.

Ford, Honda Win Big at Ward's Auto Annual 10 Best Engines

Automotive publication Ward’s has released their annual 10 Best Engines and for 2018, half of the winners are turbocharged. In addition, it sees the return of the fuel cell as well as a V8 along with two first-time winners.

First Drive: 2018 Land Rover Discovery Sport SE

People don’t know much about the Land Rover range. With the exception of the Defender and perhaps the Discovery, vehicles such as the Discovery Sport don’t exactly ring a bell as to where they lie within the line-up. As the brand’s “leisure” model, it replaces the Freelander which was discontinued in 2014. With the likes of the Audi Q5, Mercedes-Benz GLC, and Porsche Macan within its price range, can the Discovery Sport carve up its own niche in the crowded segment?
