Toyota Motor PH Consolidates Vios Line-Up For 2024

Toyota Motor Philippines has used its scheduled Christmas shutdown of its Santa Rosa, Laguna assembly plant to rationalize the Vios line-up.

Before this consolidation, the country’s best-selling passenger car was available in no less than 10 variants in seven grades ranging from the fleet-oriented Vios 1.3 Base all the way to the Vios 1.5 GR Sport.

For 2024, two trim levels and three variants have been culled from the line-up: the Vios 1.3 Base and the Vios 1.3 E, effectively reducing the local sub-compact sedan to seven variants in five grades.

With the discontinuation of the fleet Vios 1.3 Base, the base variant of the Vios is now the Vios 1.3 J priced at P 732,000. Additionally, the top trim Vios 1.3 now becomes the XLE which is priced at P 862,000 for the manual and P 902,00 for the automatic.

Check out the 2024 Vios line-up below:
  • Vios 1.3 Base MT – discontinued
  • Vios 1.3 J MT – P 732,000
  • Vios 1.3 XE CVT – P 774,000
  • Vios 1.3 XLE MT – P 862,000
  • Vios 1.3 XLE CVT – P 902,000
  • Vios 1.3 E MT – discontinued
  • Vios 1.3 E CVT – discontinued
  • Vios 1.5 G MT – P 979,000
  • Vios 1.5 G CVT – P 1,039,000
  • Vios 1.5 GR Sport CVT – P 1,055,000
Toyota reintroduced the XE and XLE badges on the Vios in 2019. Both variants offer all power amenities and even an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto—a running change that’s now available on all Vios save for the Vios 1.3 J. The Vios XE comes with 14-inch steel wheels with full covers as well as black-colored side view mirrors and door handles. Meanwhile, the Vios XLE has four-beam halogen headlights, front fog lamps, and 15-inch alloy wheels as standard.

  1. IMO, the XLE should have been re-branded as E, unless they don't have the "E" emblems in their parts bin.

  2. MG5,MG GT,Honda City,Geely Emgrand,Changan Alsvin and Nissan Almera are much better buys now.
No point buying a decade old taxi with weak engine and weak air-conditioning system.

    1. Unfortunately the MG5 and Geely Emgrand have embarrassingly poor safety ratings. It still remains to be seen what the durability of Chinese cars will be over time too. INO the China cars are not quite there yet. Savings up front mean little if the cars won't stand the test of time or your family is seriously injured in an accident.

  3. Why won't TMP bud the all new VIOS Malaysia and Thailand are building? The 4th generation AC100 series.

    1. It is the cost of switching to DNGA platform which new AC100 Vios is built on or perhaps supply of local parts is still limited. Lastly if they stretch the lifetime of the model, the better the margins. Demand for the current model will dictate the time when it switches over to the new platform.

  4. Geely Emgrand/Proton S70 scored 5 stars at ASEAN NCAP
Toyota Vios scored 2 STARS ONLY at Latin NCAP
Geely Emgrand with with Mitsubishi engine is a much better buy now.

    1. I test drove both vios 1.5 and emgrand, night and day ang difference. In terms of space , ergonomics, features, and ride quality- emgrand.

    2. But when the geely emgrand breaks down, you're not gonna use it for months, that's for sure.

    3. And if the vios crashed, or figured into an accident, boom. dead. Safety issue.

  5. The problem with your argument is that two different agencies conducted the tests. It would have been a fair comparison if the results you provided were from the same agency. ASEAN NCAP vs ASEAN NCAP, or Latin NCAP vs Latin NCAP.

Remember that every region has their own safety regulations for automakers to meet thus changing the ratings of the crash tests.

    1. Test will always be just test. Actual world usage is different.

    2. Tests are impt.
You cannot buy or use your car in actual world without passing crash tests.
