  1. A brand new honda would be easier to own --if they lower the price down. Thats is only it.

    2. For Japanese car companies I think that actually lowering their prices will seem like an admission of something... greed maybe? Or maybe that their cars are not worth the extra 50, 100, 200+ thousand pesos? It's not a secret that the Japanese see themselves as superior to other people (they are polite in not being haughty about it though) so there's probably some stubborness in the old/executive leadership that they can/should demand a price that THEY think they are worth.

One other point, I remember watching a Motorinc video where one of the hosts (an automotive journalist) talked about the way feedback travels internally in a Japanese company. The short of it was that it can take weeks to months for small issues/concerns to reach the intended departments within the car company and then weeks to months again for the answer to get back to the original branch. Any feedback that needed actual design changes were almost never answered (maybe no one had the authority to give the answer). At least, that's what I remembered from watching that video. They said that system is the same for pretty much all Japanese companies att least with how they operate in India but then almost all their leadership/executives are Japanese so if they do that there it must be the same back in Japan.
