Mark Your Calendars: All-New Honda Prelude To Make Philippine Debut On December 5

Honda Cars Philippines is celebrating its 35th anniversary with a preview of the all-new Prelude. The electrified sports coupe is the big star of its second Honda Fest which is happening 10 AM to 10 PM on Friday, December 5 to Sunday, December 7, 2025 at the Promenade Parking, Festival Mall, Corporate Avenue, Muntinlupa City (Muji side).

Launched in September, the Prelude aims to advance the joy of driving to a new generation of buyers. The new sports coupe pairs the Honda two-motor hybrid-electric powertrain with the high-performance chassis hardware of the iconic Civic Type R. As such, it promises precise steering, responsive handling, and a general fun-to-drive feel in a grand touring package that’s comfortable for everyday driving.

Under the hood, the first-ever electrified Prelude combines a 2.0-liter Atkinson cycle direct injection gasoline engine with a two-motor system for a total output of 200 horsepower and 315 Nm of torque. Paired exclusively to this a E-CVT transmission equipped with Honda’s new S+ Shift system. The S+ Shift system delivers simulated gearshifts through a seamless coordination between the combustion engine and high-power motor. It does so by precisely managing engine RPM. As a result, the Prelude can do simulated downshift blips, rev matching, and gear holding.

Together with a preview of the all-new Prelude, Honda Cars Philippines will also showcase the past and present models of the company. Attendees will see well-loved previous generations of its current models, as well as the latest models equipped with modern technology, such as Honda Connect, Honda Sensing, and the e:HEV full hybrid system.

For those interested in experiencing the Honda difference, test drives will be conveniently conducted around the venue and will be available the entire weekend:
  • City 1.5 S CVT
  • City Hatchback 1.5 RS
  • Civic RS e:HEV
  • CR-V RS e:HEV
  • HR-V RS e:HEV
  • HR-V S CVT
  • BR-V 1.5 S CVT
  • Brio 1.2 RS Black Top
Honda Fest will also serve as the first opportunity to see the Pro Honda line, beginning with its Engine Oil products. Pro Honda was first introduced in 2023 exclusively for motorcycles but has now been expanded for use in automobiles as well, creating a more streamlined and uniform product line for Honda vehicles.

Not only will Honda Fest attendees be among the first to see the Pro Honda Engine Oil in person, but they will also get the chance to take some home, along with other Pro Honda giveaways and merchandise.

Furthermore, special aftersales activities will also be available onsite. Honda owners may have their oil changed at the venue, which will make them eligible for a free 20-point check-up, and Pro Honda giveaways. These owners will also enjoy a 35 percent discount on Pro Honda Fully Synthetic Oil, drain plug washers, and oil filters. Availing these services will be on a first-come, first-served basis and is subject to technician availability.

Honda Philippines, Inc. (HPI) will also be joining, with test rides for their electric bikes, the EM1 e: and CUV e: available onsite. Honda Safety Driving Center (HSDC) will have a special road safety simulation track for kids where they will learn basic road safety rules. Lastly, there will be a special car display on the last day, December 7, featuring the prized builds of select Honda Club of the Philippines (HCP) members.

There will be a special program on December 5, Friday, 10:00 AM to open the special celebration.

    1. they weren't really gunning for power, but more on keeping the fun to drive ethos. This is like the second iteration of the CR-Z in a better packaged product. Plus it uses some parts from the Civic Type-R.

When the first GT86 was released it also had just around 200HP, granted tho that was an rear wheel drive ICE model, obviously lighter, but people still enjoyed it :)

    2. CR-Z Hybrid Coupe was popular in the Philippines due to its affordable competitive prices back then despite the vehicle was small and slow..HCPI sold around hundreds of units or more of the CR-Z Hybrid Coupe back then.
Honda Prelude Hybrid Coupe is expected to be priced like a GR Yaris A/T,Mustang Mach Premium AWD and Nissan Z Premium in the Philippine market despite being underpowered.

    3. Couldn't understand the hype with the new Prelude. Previous generations were technical showcases for Honda but this new model, not so much. It's sure to be less fun than the GR86 due to it being FWD. Honda also seems to be deluded that they could command so much for what is a new Honda Civic Coupe Hybrid in other markets.

  6. I think all allocation for the Philippine market will be taken up. Honda added more units of the type r after initial allocation. The prelude is a driver's car not about power. There are plenty of Honda fan boys willing to pay.

    2. Is it going to be the same as Japan? Vast majority of buyers are going to be senior citizen fan boys? 😅

  7. based on honda previous pricing strategy, this honda prelude will be priced out of the market. just look at its previous niche models.
