Geely Philippines Adds Android Auto, Vehicle Enhancements With Software Update For EX5 EV SUV

Geely’s all-electric compact SUV, the EX5, has finally received its first global software update this 2026.

Rolling out across several markets, including the Philippines, the update focuses on enhancing user experience with improvements spanning intelligent connectivity, ease of use, system responsiveness, and safety-related optimization.

This update delivers three key enhancements:
  • Android Auto in-car connectivity, with added support for Android systems to enable broader in-vehicle integration.
  • Customizable AVAS low-speed alert sounds, offering three selectable audio profiles to suit different user preferences.
  • New Drive Setup one-touch activation, allowing drivers to quickly adjust multiple Intelligent driving functions.
Built on the Built on Geely’s global intelligent new energy architecture (GEA), the Geely EX5 marks a significant step forward in vehicle electronics with a centralized computing framework and new system architecture. This allows the intelligent cockpit and in-vehicle ecosystem to evolve seamlessly over time, ensuring the vehicle remains up to date throughout its lifecycle.

  4. On paper, it seems the EX5 is the best 2wd EV SUV below 2M. I wonder if they've already fixed the old parts availability and customer service issues from just after the pandemic.

    1. The answer to questions like this is usually to look for the number of complaints. If people make less noise about their aftersales (than before) then you could say it has improved.

I was curious one time and decided to look at search results for complaints/discussions about Geely aftersales and found that the complaints pretty much died out after the transition of new management early last year. Only negative feedback I found was surrounding certain dealerships that people said you should avoid.
