After its specs leaked out late last year, it’s now official: the refreshed Honda CR-V has finally landed in the Philippines.
Celebrating 30 years of being the “Comfortable Runabout Vehicle,” the latest CR-V now comes with two e:HEV full-hybrid variants and one VTEC Turbo variant.
New for 2026 is the CR-V RS e:HEV AWD. Marking the return of Honda’s trademark Real Time All-Wheel Drive system to the country, this top-of-the-line variant offers added peace of mind and confidence with its electronically controlled all-wheel drive system by seamlessly managing power delivery across different driving scenarios. It’s joined by the front-drive CR-V VX e:HEV—a new non-RS hybrid model that further broadens the appeal and reach of Honda’s two-motor hybrid system.
Speaking of the powertrain, both hybrid CR-Vs pack the e:HEV system which combines a 2.0-liter Atkinson cycle 4-cylinder engine (148 horsepower, 183 Nm) with dual electric motors for a cumulative output of 184 horsepower and 335 Nm. A new Individual Drive Mode has been made available as well. Meanwhile, the base CR-V, the 1.5 V Turbo HuNT becomes the only CR-V powered by the turbocharged 1.5-liter producing 190 horsepower and 240 Nm of torque.
Style-wise, the VX gets inspiration from the top-grade RS with its Piano Black spoiler garnish, door mirrors, and alloy wheels. It also gets new rear fog lights as well. Meanwhile, the RS continues with its expanded Piano Black exterior accents.
Meanwhile, the CR-V V Turbo HuNT CVT goes decidedly more rugged. It stands out with a signature “HuNT” emblem (exclusive to the Philippine market), glossy copper accents on the front grille and fog lights, black wheel arch garnish, silver front garnish, and running board.
Inside, the CR-V comes standard with black leather seats, with the RS grade receiving red stitching and, of course, the RS branding. Likewise, a three-spoke leather steering wheel is standard, with the RS getting a black steering wheel garnish.
Technology-wise, the 2026 CR-V’s 9-inch infotainment system now comes with Google Buit-In which offers enhanced hands-free voice control making it easier to control supported applications. This complements the Honda Connect in-vehicle telematics system. The VX tops that with a standard heads-up display—a feature that was once exclusive on the RS grade.
In terms of safety, the new CR-V drops the Lane Watch camera in favor of a proper Blind Spot Information system and Cross Traffic Monitor. This is on top of the Honda Sensing System which bundles various ADAS functions.
The new CR-V comes in four colors—Platinum White Pearl, Meteoroid Gray Metallic, Canyon River Blue Metallic, and Crystal Black Pearl. A 3-year or 100,000 bumper-to-bumper warranty is standard, but the hybrid battery on the VX and RS gets an 8-year or 160,000-kilometer warranty, whichever comes first.

It's getting more expensive as the years goes by, to the point it isn't a justifiable purchase unless you're an enthusiast.

Disappointed to see the refreshed units don't like the photos accompanying the imminent launch stories published by automotive sites (paint, wheels, etc.). Perhaps saving those for when the new RAV4 comes out in PH?

ReplyDeleteIndicative pricing for the all-new RAV4 has leaked and are lower than CR-V prices (comparing hybrids with hybrids). There most certainly will be a queue to get the former, considering price and all-new design. This generation has the looks and overall package that I predict will be popular. It's not priced like the Chinese but granting that it is a Toyota, people will not balk at the premium.
