Ford Mustang Mach-E Has Highest Owner Satisfaction Among Mass Market EV Brands

The Ford Mustang Mach‑E has been recognized as the top ranked battery electric vehicle when it comes to ownership. This is based on the 2026 JD Power U.S. Electric Vehicle Experience (EVX) Ownership Study.

The study, now on its sixth year, focuses on the crucial first year of ownership. The overall EVX Ownership Index score measures electric vehicle owner satisfaction in both premium and mass market segments. The 2026 study includes 10 factors (in alphabetical order): accuracy of stated battery range; availability of public charging stations; battery range; cost of ownership; driving enjoyment; ease of charging at home; interior and exterior styling; safety and technology features; service experience; and vehicle quality and reliability.

The Mach-E scored 760 on a 1,000-point scale, outpacing its competitors in the mass market segment such as the Hyundai Ioniq 6 (748), Kia EV9 (745), and Hyundai Ioniq 5 (743).

In the premium BEV segment, the Tesla Model 3 ranks highest overall and highest in the premium BEV segment with a score of 804. Tesla Model Y (797) ranks second and BMW i4(795) ranks third.

“A recognition like this matters because it reflects what owners feel every day—how confident they are behind the wheel, how easy the vehicle is to live with, and how seamless the overall experience is,” said Pedro Simoes, President and Managing Director, Ford Philippines. “The Mustang Mach‑E embodies Ford’s commitment to deliver an electric vehicle that’s unmistakably fun to drive, thoughtfully designed with the customer in mind, and supported by the kind of ownership experience our customers deserve. As interest in electrified mobility grows in the Philippines, recognitions like this testify to Ford’s global commitment in bringing products and experiences that fit today’s lifestyles.”

The study also finds that BEVs have higher satisfaction than PHEVs particularly when it comes to cost of ownership. While PHEVs benefit from improved battery performance compared with traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles, they still carry the maintenance requirements of an internal combustion engine—cost and service needs that BEVs avoid entirely, the study notes.

As EV adoption accelerates worldwide, customer experience has become as important as specifications. The JD Power EVX Ownership Study underscores that satisfaction is shaped by how well an EV integrates into daily life—covering not only performance and technology, but also the learning curve and practical realities of charging.

The Mustang Mach‑E’s top ranking signals the strength of Ford’s approach: combining iconic design and engaging performance with smart technology intended to simplify the transition to electric driving.
