Toyota didn’t just develop a more hardcore version of the GR Corolla, the GRMN Corolla, but they also will introduce the GR Corolla Morizo RR—a slightly more practical version, but still equally capable version of the GRMN Corolla.
For one, the GR Corolla Morizo RR will keep its 5-seater layout; the GRMN Corolla, being lightweight-focused, is a two-seater. Second, is that while the GRMN Corolla is available only with a 6-speed manual, the GR Corolla Morizo RR keeps its 8-speed Gazoo Racing Direct Automatic Transmission (GR-DAT).
The ultimate version of the automatic transmission-equipped GR Corolla sports styling cues similar to the GRMN Corolla. This includes the carbon fiber hood and rear wing, a revised front bumper with added canards, and front fender louvers.
Separating the GR Corolla Morizo RR apart are the telltale yellow contrasting accents on the front and rear bumpers, and brake calipers. Also worth noting that it doesn’t have the wider 245/40R18 Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2, but the OE 235/40R18 Michelin Pilot Sport 5s. It could also come exclusively in a colorway favored by Morizo: Gravel Khaki.
Toyota says that the GR Corolla Morizo RR is currently a work-in-progress, but looking at the limited-edition GR Yaris Morizo RR, it should receive a unique suspension tune, recalibrated power steering, an additional 4WD mode (Morizo mode), and yellow stitching on the steering wheel, shift knob, and parking brake.
More details on the GR Corolla Morizo RR will be revealed at a later date.
