Honda has come up with a special limited edition of its Prelude sports coupe that’ll do Ron Burgundy proud. First teased last April, the carmaker has finally made it official.
Although the name is unimaginative: Prelude 2027 Limited Edition, it does wear one classy paint job: Premium Crystal Garnet Metallic. The deep-wine red shade is all about, in Honda’s words, “creating a sophisticated adult world with the deep red combination of the exterior and interior.”
As that phrase implies, there’s plenty of red—Bordeaux, to be exact, found all over the sports coupe. You find it on the bumper accents, brake calipers, steering wheel stitch, and of course, the seats as well as the door armrest pads, center console, and the passenger side middle lining.
Completing the change is a switch in the Prelude 2027 Limited Edition’s seat material. From the leather and houndstooth-patterned seats, it’s now made of—drink it in—smooth leather.
Mechanically, it’s all mechanically unchanged.
Right now, this special edition Prelude is only going on sale in Japan, where it will set you back—Sweet Lincoln’s mullet—6,306,300 yen (P 2.374 million).
