The CX-60 And CX-90: Creating SUVs The Mazda Way
Let’s recap what these two vehicles are again. The smaller of these two is the CX-60, while the bigger one is the CX-90. Both represent Mazda’s upmarket aspirations and more crucially, slot above two of the carmaker’s so-called bread-and-butter models—the CX-5 (for the CX-60) and the CX-9 (for the CX-90). This challenge puts Mazda in a unique situation—one which they solved by coming up with a totally new, clean sheet design.

Review: 2024 Mazda CX-60 3.3 HEV Turbo
The CX-60 occupies a narrow space in the market between two more traditional segments: the two-row compact SUV and the three-row mid-sized SUV. With that, it must deliver enough differentiation either to entice buyers to move up (in the case of compact SUVs) or move laterally (in the case of mid-sized SUVs). Either way, it’s got its work cut out. Having sampled the diesel-powered CX-60 3.3 HEV Turbo-D Sport before, I’d say that Mazda managed to get about 80 percent of it right. It isn’t perfect, but ultimately there’s still lots to like.

The 2024 Chevrolet Traverse Is Made For Family Adventures
Once a upon a time, Chevrolet Philippines sold the Traverse in the Philippines. Though that foray into the mid-sized crossover segment was short lived, but it did manage to pave the way for the likes of the body-on-frame Trailblazer to follow a few years later. Now that Chevy’s Philippine distributor, The Covenant Car Company, Inc., is looking more to North America to source its products, perhaps they would re-consider bringing back the all-new 2024 Traverse?

Review: 2024 Mazda CX-60 3.3 HEV Turbo-D Sport
The first-ever CX-60 is something Mazda must get right; after all, it’s representative of their premium aspirations. Though some may say that it started with the current Mazda3 and CX-30, those vehicles didn’t command much of a price premium over the competition to warrant raised eyebrows. The CX-60, on the other hand, nips at the heels of real luxury with its P 2.890-million price tag. This begs the question: did they get it right or will it serve as a reality check that’ll send them crashing down?

Review: 2023 Ford Everest 2.0 Turbo Sport 4x2
When carmakers lend out vehicles, often, it’s the top-of-the-line trim. This is their way of putting their best foot forward. Occasionally, however, they’d do something different. Spurred by various reasons—the two ones I could think of being the way the segment’s shaped (mid- and entry-level models, after all, typically make up a chunk of sales); or perhaps, they know they’ve got a new story to tell, they let us have a go at something other than the most expensive variant. After some seat time with the Ford Everest Sport, I could say that this is the best bang-for-the-buck variant in the line-up, and as an added bonus, it’s the best driving Everest variant too.

Review: 2023 Ford Everest 2.0 Bi-Turbo Titanium+ 4x4
The pickup-based mid-sized SUV is a completely different animal compared to what it was two decades ago. From a no-frills, humble 7-seater with go-anywhere ability, they’re now regarded as a status symbol—one that combines any terrain capability with a long list of comfort and convenience features. Among all the nameplates out there, only one has continued to ride the wave, and that’s the Ford Everest.
