The Cars of 2017 Are Less Fuel Efficient Compared to Last Year's
Last year, the Department of Energy (DOE) in cooperation with Petron held the first-ever Euro 4 fuel economy run in the country. Supposedly a dry run for the DOE’s efforts for a standardized fuel economy benchmark (surprise: there’s still none), 70 vehicles were driven at midnight on a mostly empty highway course. This year, the DOE held another fuel economy run (the 13th such event) with 55 vehicles present. They threw away the guise of creating a standardized benchmark and highlighted instead its consumer-focused “E-Power Mo” campaign which aims to highlight efficiency as a main factor in purchasing a vehicle.

Hyundai Philippines Tweaks Prices Due to Excise Tax

Hyundai Posts 10 Percent Growth in August
Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI), the official distributor of Hyundai vehicles in the Philippines, quells the ghost month with August sales up by 10% to a total of 2,073 units compared to its year-ago level. Hyundai Motor PH Will Service PNP Patrol Cars Donated By The Republic Of Korea
Hyundai Motor Philippines Inc. (HMPH) formally pledged to extend its aftersales support to the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) existing fleet of “Hyundai Patrol Cars.” This comprises of 81 Grand Starex and 49 Elantra units which were turned over by the Republic of Korea (ROK), through the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and Korean National Police Agency (KNPA), to the country’s principal police force.
