Foton Philippines Pays Tribute to Hard-Working Teachers at PLDT-Smart's Gabay Guro Teacher Fest

From new vehicle offerings and dealership expansions to uplifting Philippine sports and collaborating in numerous Corporate Social Responsibility activities (CSR), Foton Philippines has been taking the lead in these endeavors.

One of the many CSR initiatives of United Asia Automotive Group, Inc. (UAAGI), the official distributor of Foton vehicles in the Philippines is its support to the PLDT-Smart Foundation.

Annually, the PLDT-Smart Foundation holds the Gabay Guro Teacher Fest—a tribute to the men and women who serve as teachers to the different schools across the country. The gathering serves as a “relaxing day” for these modern-day heroes including live entertainment and raffle prizes.

Since 2015, Foton Philippines has been donating one of their vehicle offerings, the Gratour Minivan as the grand prize at the Gabay Guro Teacher Fest’s raffle draw.

UAAGI and Foton Philippines President Rommel Sytin shared, “We salute the teachers’ courage and perseverance, and we’d like to help them overcome mobility challenges with vehicles that could improve the quality of their lives. In this aspect, the Gratour MiniVan will be an efficient contributor.”

The Gratour is Foton’s newest offerings and can be used for both personal and business use. It can also accommodate a family of 7 thanks to its three rows of seating.

Winning the Foton Gratour Minivan for 2015 is Mr. Paciano Salting, a public school teacher from Nueva Ecija. Since Salting resides in a rural area, the Foton Gratour Minivan helps him and his family travel to various places including a trip to Metro Manila.

The following year, Ms. Angelica Zamora, a public school teacher from Atimonan, Quezon province won a Gratour Minivan. And since she received the Gratour, her family’s lifestyle became much easier and convenient.

“Gabay Guro’s advocacy of supporting teachers as a way of giving back for all their hard work in mentoring today’s youth aligns with our company’s beliefs. In Foton, we’re continuously coming out with new products and services in order to enhance our support for Gabay Guro and other partners,” said Foton Philippines Executive Vice President Ms. Anna Maria Parado.

Aiming to be a catalyst to improve the Filipino families and businesses, Foton Philippines commits to continue extending their company’s helping hands for the development of the Filipino community through its wide array of vehicles.
