Toyota Motor Philippines Can Now Sell You a Vios Race Car

Tired of being told that your car’s a glorified taxi? Well, worry no more. If your heart is still set on getting the country’s best-selling vehicle, the Vios, but want something with a bit more pep, then we suggest you take a look at this special edition Vios.

Based off the one-make Vios Cup Car, the Vios Race Car special edition comes with the following go-fast changes:
  • TRD Clutch Cover and Disc
  • TRD Limited Slip Differential
  • Brembo Sport Brake Pad
  • TRD Muffler Set
  • Upgraded Front Upper Mount
  • Upgraded Suspension Set
  • TRD Kit
  • Hood Lock Pin
  • OMP Sport Bucket Seat with Seat Bracket
  • OMP Sport Steering Wheel and Hub
  • 6-pt Racing Harness
  • Front and Rear Tow Hook
  • Fire Extinguisher
  • Heel Plate / Flooring
  • Pedal Pads
  • Wheel Nut
  • Body Decals
  • Upgraded Alloy Wheels and Tires
Based on these modifications, it closely resembles the Super Sporting Class which can lap the Clark International Speedway up to 2 seconds faster than the other Vios Cup cars, so at least there is some racing pedigree there.

The modifications are done on a by-order basis only, and mind you, it’s not going to be cheap. It’s a whopping P 357,000 additional on the Vios 1.5 G on which it’s based on. This means the Vios Race Car special edition has an SRP of P 1,400,000.

It sure does sound like a steep price to pay, but it does automatically include entry in the Vios Racing Festival under the Promotional Class. For buyers who purchase after the 2019 Vios Racing Festival ends in November, they are required to race in the 2020 season.

Also, by opting to buy a race-proven car, people will finally stop calling your car, “pang Grab.”

  1. No amount of marketing will fool educated buyers. For 1.4m you can already buy a 2016 Toyota 86/Mazda MX5. Even a normal diesel Hyundai Accent would still smoke that vios. 1.4m for a vios, lol.
