2022 Toyota Camry Arrives In Philippines With Standard Hybrid Power and Toyota Safety Sense (w/ Specs)

Toyota Motor Philippines is pushing electrification to more segments with the introduction of the first-ever hybrid executive sedan with the 2022 Camry 2.5 HEV. Replacing the conventional combustion engine version moving forward, the Camry Hybrid not only brings strong environmental performance in its segment, but comes jam-packed with features along with a strong value-for-money positioning.

Outside, changes to the 2022 Camry are subtle. Among them are the re-profiled upper grille—now made slimmer as well as the presence of high-gloss black elements on the lower grille, and a new pattern for the 18-inch alloy wheels.

Under the hood, the 2022 Camry receives the newest Dynamic Force engine. The 2.5-liter 4-cylinder (A25A-FXS) comes equipped with D-4S direct injection as well as VVTi-E for better fuel efficiency and output. Toyota goes further by pairing it with their fourth-generation hybrid system. The result is a combined 211 horsepower and 221 Nm of torque. Fuel efficiency, thanks to a stronger electric motor (88 horsepower, 202 Nm) enables it to achieve up to 23.8 km/L based on internal Toyota tests.

Inside, the 2022 Camry receives a 9-inch tablet-style infotainment system with standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also receives detail changes to the trim for a more upscale look and finish.

In terms of features, the single variant 2.5 HEV comes loaded with automatic headlights, rain-sensing wipers, heads-up display, a 9-speaker JBL speaker system, wireless charger, power adjustable steering column, power adjustable front and rear seats (the driver gets a two-position memory), power rear sunshade, side rear sunshades, and a three-zone climate control with rear vents all coming standard.

It also comes with the latest version of Toyota Safety Sense which adds blind spot monitoring with all-speed adaptive cruise control, lane departure alert with steering assist, automatic high beams, and pre-collision emergency braking with cyclist and pedestrian detection. This is on top of the usual accruement of 7 SRS airbags, ABS with EBD, stability control, a panoramic view monitor, and more.

The 2022 Camry 2.5 HEV is now available at all Toyota dealerships nationwide with a price tag of P 2,335,000. It comes in three colors: Metal Stream Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, and Burning Crystal Black. Graphite Metallic is available on an indent order basis.

    1. It will take time Keane to arrive here. Got surprised that TMP brought in the Hybrid variant first before the petrol variants.

    2. Yan ang hindi ko maintindihan sa toyota/lexus. Halos copycat lang ang isat isa. Es-camry, nx-rav4, alphard-lx, lc300-gs. Tapos, sobrang laki ang price difference!

    4. Examine the interior and be a passenger in a Lexus and you'll realize the difference right away.

    5. The ES shares the Avalon platform and is larger than the Camry. Lexus variants use premium materials, have more creature comforts and offer significantly reduced NVH. It's like comparing a VW with an Audi.

  3. Toyota finally made the Camry's features closer to the US model.
