2022 Audi Q7 Gets Diesel Hybrid Power In The Philippines

Arriving in the Philippines amid sustained increases in fuel prices is the new 2022 Audi Q7 seven-seat luxury SUV, which comes standard with a mild hybrid system that reduces fuel consumption and ensures cleaner emissions.

The central component of the 2022 Audi Q7’s mild hybrid system is the Belt Alternator Starter (BAS) that powers the full-size SUV’s 48-volt main electrical system. During braking, the system can recover energy, convert this into electricity, then stores this in a compact lithium-ion battery. This cycle of recovery, conversion and storage takes place when the vehicle is traveling at speeds in between 55 km/h and 160 km/h.

The energy harnessed from this cycle can then be used to power the 2022 Audi Q7 when its mild hybrid system shuts the engine off during certain conditions — like when the vehicle is coasting. This means there are no fuel consumption and emission during this phase. The BAS will automatically restart the engine when more power is required, or when the accelerator is pressed. The engine start-stop function activates from speeds as low 22 km/h, making it ideal in stop-and-go city traffic during which time fuel consumption rises.

Working in conjunction with the mild hybrid BAS system is the 2022 Audi Q7’s 3.0-liter TDI V6 turbocharged diesel engine. With 286 horsepower and 600 Nm of output available, the engine is already fuel-efficient, thanks to its massive torque rating, as well as the wide range of gears provided by the vehicle’s eight-speed tiptronic transmission. The engine’s output is delivered to the quattro permanent all-wheel drive system.

The 2022 Audi Q7 is also restyled with the brand’s large Singleframe grille with six upright slats makes the vehicle look even more powerful, while the two-part side air inlets and sill area receive a much more expressive line that underscores the vehicle’s ground clearance and off-road capabilities. Emphasizing the width of the 2022 Audi Q7 is the new light signature of its headlamps’ HD Matrix LED technology, along with the restyled rear’s chrome strip and flat taillights with refreshed graphics. New 20-inch cast aluminum wheels round off the latest model’s exterior design changes.

Inside, the 2022 Q7 gets a new digital operating system with two large touchscreens that provide both haptic and acoustic feedback for their touch controls. Other luxury accruements include a leather steering wheel with paddle shifters, an ambient LED lighting package, four-zone climate control, a rear seat entertainment system, and a Bang & Olufsen premium audio system. Also fitted as standard are an electrically operated tailgate, and power-latching, soft-closing doors.

Now available in Audi Philippines showrooms, the 2022 Audi Q7 can also be presented to clients from the comfort of their homes through the Audi Live View (check the link on the Audi Philippines website). This fully digital luxury experience lets clients engage in real time with an Audi product expert who is at an Audi Philippines showroom.
