Next-Gen Ford Ranger's Aircon System Is Manila Proof

We’ve all heard about variable valve timing and variable geometry turbo, but have you heard of variable stroke technology?

The technology is set to make an appearance in the next-generation Ranger, but mind you, it won’t be found under the engine bay. Instead, Ford’s upcoming pickup truck will have it installed in its air conditioner compressor.

Ford says applying variable stroke technology in its climate control compressor will result in fuel efficiency gains because it reduces the compressor’s cycling requirements. And thanks to a new, more advanced climate sensor, the Ranger’s climate control system will quickly adjust modes and blower speeds to maintain a comfortable cabin in all weather conditions. Oh, and yes, for those asking, next-generation Ranger will finally have rear vents further improving the comfort for those in the back seat.

The Ranger’s climate control will both be accessible via the large SYNC 4A infotainment system, or through hard buttons located at the base of the screen.

The next-generation Ford Ranger is expected to arrive in the Philippines by the end of the year.

  2. This is not a new tech, Hyundai has been using this tech. Our 2017 Hyundai Accent HB has this.
