It’s almost official: Toyota Motor Philippines will be undercut the recently launched Honda CR-V and the Subaru Forester with the all-new, sixth-generation RAV4.
As per previous leaks, and more recently confirmed by Toyota Motor Philippines’ own social media posting, the RAV4 will come in two variants in the country: the RAV4 LTD HEV CVT and the RAV4 ADV HEV CVT.
Both the LTD (Limited) and ADV (Adventure) will bring back standard all-wheel drive for the RAV4 nameplate. Confirmed in its government paperwork, the A25A-FXS combustion engine produces 186 horsepower (137 kW), while the AXA64L and ANXVB electric motor combo supplements that with 136 horsepower (100 kW). Both have a 1.09-kWh battery. Globally, this powertrain packs a total of 240 horsepower.
Using the E-Four system, the all-wheel drive system on-board the RAV4 is purely electric. The system can precisely control the ratio of driving force between 100:0 and 20:80, achieving high levels of acceleration from a standstill and cornering stability. It will also offer no compromises to fuel economy.
Now comes the interesting bit: the prices. Normally a well-kept secret, Toyota Makati, through its own official Facebook page has confirmed that the all-new RAV4 will start at P 2,183,000 for the RAV4 ADV HEV and will top out at P 2,499,000 for the RAV4 LTD HEV. At both price points, it will seriously cause panic for the Honda CR-V, the Subaru Forester, and even the Mazda CX-60.
The LTD features body-colored bumpers and a mesh grille joined by inner grille accents that create an advanced, three-dimensional look. The rear features a seamless design integrating the rear door window glass and lights, underscoring a wide and refined presence. On the other hand, the ADV offers a tough and rugged appearance which is achieved through a unique design featuring a high front nose peak, large wheel arch molding, and raised roof rails.
The LTD will come in four colors: Platinum White Pearl (a P 15,000 premium), Attitude Black, Dark Blue Mica, and Avantgarde Bronze, while the ADV will come in three: Urban Rock, Massive Gray, and Everest.
Inside, it’s all about functionality and user-friendliness. The center stack groups various functions together, like the touchscreen display, drive mode selection, and storage for a smartly organized space while the center console combines the shifter, cup holder with a removable divider, and arm rest/storage bin with a two-way closure.
In terms of features, not much will separate both RAV4 variants. Both the LTD and the ADV will come feature-packed, putting all its rivals to shame with a 12.3-inch all-digital gauge cluster, a 12.9-inch touchscreen, and the usual accoutrements of power front seats with memory, and dual zone climate control with rear vents.
The LTD, however, will gain 20-inch wheels with 235/50R20 (235/65R18s on the ADV) a panoramic sunroof, an upgraded leather upholstery (from suede/leather on the ADV), ventilated front seats, a 9-speaker JBL sound system, and heads-up display.
In terms of safety, the 2026 RAV4 is the first one to receive Toyota Safety Sense 4.0. The new version of Toyota’s standard active safety suite will have updates to its hardware and detection capabilities. Functions include Front Cross Traffic Alert, Blind Spot Monitors, Rear Vehicle Approach Indicator, Lane Change Assist that can be engaged with Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Tracing Assist, Pre-Collision System, and Advanced Park function.
Toyota dealerships across the country are now taking in reservations for the all-new RAV4. With such competitive pricing and specs, expect long wait lists when it launches in March so best to fall in line as early as now.

DeleteFor 1 or 2 car-owners, those "3rd world diesel SUVs" makes the most sense for most of our kababayans. A lot of people I know with multiple cars (4-6)(myself included) have at least 1 of those cheap SUVs you think so lowly of, not because we can't afford a Land Cruiser 300 (we own one and a couple other Euro SUVs) but because it's a no-frills car you can drive anywhere without having to worry about where to park it.

Curious tuloy ako, ano kotse mo? In other markets, yes, the Land Cruiser is considered a harabas car. Take the US market for example, where the average brand new car sold was close to $50,000 or about 3 million pesos. Now compare that to the Philippines wherein the top 10 cars sold in the same period were mostly economy cars priced around 1-1.2 million pesos. Apples to oranges, really.

DeleteWith both trims being AWD, there is little differentiation in equipment to justify the 300k gap, which might nudge buyers more towards the ADV. That said, it looks like this generation will bring the RAV4 (well and truly a "4" in name and drivetrain) back to mainstream consideration from its current sleepy niche. We've said enough about the CR-V's pricing. Honda won't admit the mistake and would rather die on this hill. That's their choice and I'm glad they're showing their true colors. I hope they managed to sell out the last discounted 2025s before the RAV4 pricing came out. Bonus for RAV4 buyers: it comes with a spare tire for added confidence and peace of mind.
