It’s official: Honda Cars Philippines is opening order books for the all-new, electrified Prelude e:HEV this Friday, February 27.
The all-new Prelude will come in just one variant, the 2.0 e:HEV, and will come in five colors: Moonlit White Pearl (New and Exclusive to Prelude), Rallye Red, Racing Blue Pearl, Meteoroid Gray Metallic, and Crystal Black Pearl.
While Honda Cars Philippines has kept the specs of the all-new Prelude secret (officially), it was outed in a government filing last January.
The all-new Prelude is not designed to be an outright sportscar, but as a comfortable grand tourer. That said, it does have several suspension components derived from the Civic Type R, delivering a balance of comfort and precise handling that makes it a capable and refined touring car.
Making its debut on the Honda Prelude is the S+ Shift technology in its E-CVT gearbox. Honda has always emphasized its aim to satisfy drivers with its fun-to-drive nature and is now taking hybrid driving to a new level. While paddles on Honda’s hybrid models traditionally allow drivers to select between levels of regenerative braking, activating the S+ Shift gives the driver the ability to shift gears virtually. It produces visual, audio, and tactile signals such as meter display changes, virtual engine sounds, and seat vibrations to create a more engaging driving experience.
While it is a sports coupe, the Prelude is not limited to being a ‘weekender’. With its practical functionality and versatility, it is built to be a daily driver. Its premium and stylish design serves a more practical purpose, offering ample cargo space and a comfortable cabin enough for groceries, two golf bags, and even two surfboards.
The all-new Prelude comes with Honda’s e:HEV full hybrid system. Shared with the Civic RS e:HEV, it makes 184 horsepower and 315 Nm of torque from its 2.0-liter two-motor hybrid. And based on its official DOE certification, it achieves 25.6 km/Lge.
With the specs and now the colors of the Prelude being revealed, the only thing left is the price. Here is hoping that Honda Cars Philippines is able to price it closer to the likes of the Toyota GR 86, Subaru BRZ, and Mazda MX-5 rather than the Nissan Z and Toyota GR Supra.

Akala ko BIG BIG discounts Ang breaking news š š š . But in fairness it’s beautiful and looks solidly built and has nice colors too.
ReplyDeletewill this be included in the P36 only downpayment promo by HONDA?
ReplyDeleteAsa pa tayo sa price niyan na maging competitive, crv nga 2.8M eh, honestly overpriced siya. If crv Phev or Fcev pa yan 2.8m na yan sana
ReplyDeleteWill anyone actually buy this? This thing was panned so hard by reviewers.
ReplyDeleteThere will be a few outliers. Probably for car meets or car show purposes. For track use, maybe not
