Hariphil Asia Resources Inc. (HARI), the official distributor of Volvo Cars in the Philippines, marks a significant step in its electrification journey with the launch of the Volvo ES90 Ultra BEV and the Volvo EX90 Ultra BEV. Representing its next generation of flagship vehicles, both are engineered with next-level advanced safety innovations, modernized digital features, and passenger comfort.
Priced at P 5.265 million, the ES90 Ultra BEV is Volvo’s redefinition of what an executive sedan can be. Embodying the brand’s Scandinavian design, it emphasizes a calm and purposeful elegance. Its clean surfaces, balanced proportions, and sloping roofline with fastback design create a harmonious profile.
With a form that focuses on unlocking efficiency, the ES90 has a 0.25 co-efficient of drag thanks to a flat under chassis, flush door handles, and a Front Shield that replaces the traditional grille, while an active shutter at the lower half helps regulate the high-voltage battery’s temperature.
The ES90 Ultra BEV comes standard with a single electric motor that drives the rear wheels. Offering 333 horsepower and 480 Nm of torque, it enables a 0 to 100 km/h time of just 6.6 seconds. The large 92 kWh, meanwhile, offers up to 700 kilometers of range on a single charge and thanks to an 800-volt EV architecture, it can add up to 295 kilometers with just 10 minutes of charging (10 to 80 percent in 22 minutes).
As Volvo’s quietest offering to date, the ES90 becomes an oasis of comfort and restful moments. Its ultra-long wheelbase (3,102 mm) makes for generous room front and back. The first-class lounge atmosphere is complemented by its use of light, earth tones as well as its long list of standard features including heated and ventilated front seats with massaging functions, reclining and ventilated rear seats, a panoramic glass roof, and a 14-speaker Bose sound system (the 25-speaker Bower & Wilkins system is an available option).
Safety is elevated thanks to the advanced sensor suite. Equipped with 7 cameras, 5 radars, and 12 ultrasonic sensors, the ES90 delivers comprehensive awareness of the road, obstacles, and other vehicles. At its core, Next-Generation Pilot Assist provides Lane Keeping, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Navigation Support, enhancing situational awareness, reducing driver stress, and ensuring a safer, smoother, and more confident driving experience.
Meanwhile, the Volvo EX90 offers exceptional levels of safety, quietness, and advanced digital sophistication in a true 7-seater family SUV package.
Priced at P 5.990 million, the EX90 rides on the SPA2 architecture takes advantage of continuous over-the-air (OTA) updates that seamlessly enhance safety, features, and performance, including ongoing app and map improvements.
Powered by a twin-motor AWD drivetrain, the EX90 delivers up to 624 kilometers of range from its 111-kWh high-voltage battery. Like the ES90, it supports ultra-fast DC charging, enabling 10 to 80 percent in approximately 22 minutes at up to 350 kW. Its 408 horsepower, 770 Nm of torque powertrain allows a 0 to 100 km/h time of just 5.9 seconds.
Bringing the Scandinavian Living Room interior philosophy to life, the EX90 features a flat floor architecture, FSC (Forest Stewardship Council)-certified backlit wood dƩcor, and other sustainable high-quality materials.
The EX90 offers individually adjustable first-and-second-row seats, cinema-style seating, power-folding rear seats. Advanced LED lighting that mimics natural sunlight, while four-zone climate control with PM2.5 air purification enhance the cabin’s air quality and spaciousness.
Safety is at the core of the EX90, enabled by Volvo’s new-generation Safe Space Technology. This advanced safety ecosystem integrates 8 high-resolution cameras, 5 radars, 12 ultrasonic sensors, and the Driver Understanding System to create a precise, real-time 360-degree view of the vehicle’s surroundings. By continuously monitoring both the external environment and the driver’s state, the system can anticipate potential risks and provide intelligent, AI-powered assistance when needed.
“With the launch of the Volvo ES90 Ultra BEV and EX90 Ultra BEV, we are introducing not only Volvo’s next-generation electric vehicles in the Philippines, but also the principle of shaping a future that values safety and responsibility,” said Ms. Maria Fe Perez-Agudo, Vice Chairman, President, and CEO of HARI.
“These models reflect our commitment to delivering a driving experience that is not only technologically advanced but also instinctively crafted for comfort, confidence, and enduring value. Every detail, from the sophisticated design to the intuitive digital innovations, is engineered to elevate the journey, setting a new benchmark for refined electric mobility with the elegance of Scandinavian design for both discerning executives and modern families, for today and tomorrow,” she added.
During the launch, Volvo Philippines has already turned over the first batch of ES90 and EX90 units to customers—three ES90s and four EX90s. Made in China luxury
ReplyDeleteNorth of P5 for made in China Volvo??? Seriously?
ReplyDeleteAll their cars are made in Sweden or Malaysia. Volvo is a European brand and they do have a factory in China just like Mercedes, BMW, and Audi but Volvo China factory produces cars for other markets. And yes Geely bought Volvo from Europe but never changed the quality of its cars nd does not intervene with its production.
