Jeepney Drivers Will Earn Close to P 1,000 More Per Day Under PUV Modernization Program
The Automotive Body Manufacturers Association of the Philippines (ABMAP), the official organization of truck body builders in the country shared the computations on how operators will be able to afford the proposed new Eco PUVs being planned by the Department of Transportation, Department of Trade and Industry, Truck Manufacturers Association, Philippine Parts Maker Association, Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines, and ABMAP.

Truck Builder Supports Jeepney Modernization Program
Centro Manufacturing Corporation, the country’s leading truck body builder, has expressed support for the Department of Transportation (DOTr)’s PUV (Public Utility Vehicle) Modernization program. This program seeks to upgrade some 200,000 jeepneys over 15 years old with modern PUVs over the next 3 years.

Meet the Man Who's Going to Help Modernize the Jeepney
Mark Victor Bautista was a fresh graduate from the University of Santo Tomas College of Fine Arts, Industrial Design Department when he submitted a much-celebrated entry in the 1986 Industrial Design Exhibition of the Design Center of the Philippines. What Bautista presented was a new way of how public utility companies can increase their passenger capacity without buying additional vehicles.
