Ford Philippines's 2015 Explorer Sport Delivers Muscle Car Performance for 7 Adults (w/ Brochure)

Who says having a family ends your dream of buying a muscle car? Well, it may not sport a two-door body, but the new 2015 Explorer Sport sure does come close in giving you muscle car performance wrapped in a very practical body. Alongside the Ford Escape, Ford Philippines unveiled the latest addition to their Explorer family, one that adds EcoBoost technology to the already potent 3.5-liter V6 engine.

Nestled under the Explorer Sport is an EcoBoost twin-turbo V6 that gives a crazy 365-horsepower output at 5,500 rpm and 475 Nm of torque from as low as 3,000 rpm. All this power is transferred to a 6-speed automatic with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. The Explorer Sport features uncompromising all-weather grip with its all-wheel drive system complete with Terrain Management.

Aside from the extra grunt, the Explorer Sport features a more aggressive look thanks to 20-inch machined aluminum wheels, ‘Explorer’ badging on the hood, the signature three-bar grille, blackened mirrors, smoked head- and tail lamps. Inside, the Explorer Sport is distinguished by its Charcoal Black leather interior with contrasting inserts.

Other features of the Explorer Sport include power adjustable pedals, push button start, rear view camera, and a power folding third row. And like the 3.5 V6 Limited+ variant, the Explorer Sport also has two DVD headrests and a Sony Premium Audio System with 12 speakers.

In terms of safety, the Explorer Sport comes equipped with adaptive cruise control, terrain management, collision warning with brake support, speed controls, BLIS, and inflatable rear seatbelts.

The 2015 Explorer Sport joins the line-up at P 2,799,000. It’s now available for reservations at all Ford dealerships nationwide with deliveries starting in November.

  1. Grabe. Overkill na ang horsepower. Sobrang bilis siguro nito.

  2. Useless in city driving, inuman ng gas ito, di pa magamit power. Everyday slex or nlex will be okay, pero halimaw parin hehe.

  3. Ito yung nilalangaw sa US. LOL

  4. di gamit sa davao ito. 30-40 max speed!
    galloon galloon galloon... drrruuuummmm druuuummmm

  9. Itong explorer, paborito ng mga rich kids. "Daddy pabili naman ng explorer oh". Hahaha.

    1. So the poor boy should get his kariton, steal some wax in a garage, shine it up real nice, turn it sideways and stick it straight up his candy ass.

    2. huwag mong kasing pansinin..lalong lumalaki ulo nyan..at feel na feel naman nyang rich kid sya..WEH!..rich kid ka ba talaga or akala mo lang yun?

    3. The poor boy should just know his role and shut his stinking mouth.

      congressman ba tatay mo?..

    5. Not a rich kid and don't have this gas guzzler suv, i buy my own car you piece of trash. Not even one of us belong to those government retards that have heads bigger than their cars.

  10. Ford's ecoboost engines have issues in the US. It delivers horsepower undoubtedly when needed, but the estimated fuel efficiency iisn't substantial either. Ford should focus on smaller crossover suv instead. Just my personal opinion.

  11. eliminating the same segment/class qualifier, how do you think this explorer sport 3.5 v6 would compare to the toyota land cruiser lc200 in terms of raw power? while the former beats the latter in terms of hp, the latter also beats the former in terms of torque.

    toyota land cruiser lc200:
    hp: 261hp @ 3400rpm
    torque: 650nm @ 1600rpm

    explorer 3.5 v6 sport:
    hp: 365hp @ 5500rpm
    torque: 475nm @ 3500rpm

    1. erratum for toyota land cruiser lc200 specs:

      output: 232 hp @ 3200 rpm
      torque: 615 nm @ 1800-2200 rpm

As Jack Ma says, if you are still poor by 35, its your fault, no one else. Don't blame your parents for your situation, it your life, not theirs.
