The Hyundai Starex Reinvents Itself with Cargo, Ambulance Versions

If there’s one product that’s responsible for the rise of Hyundai in the Philippines, it’s the Starex. It’s become the vehicle of choice for many Filipino families enabling it to establish a legacy all on its own.

The latest iteration is no different. The functional exterior and its semi-bonnet design not only makes it more aerodynamic, but it’s also safer and quieter too compared to the typical cab-over-engine vans.

Inside, its long wheelbase assures of ample legroom while also make it much more stable especially at speed. Air conditioning vents scattered throughout the cabin distributes cool air throughout, while the double sliding doors make it easy to get in or out. Some models even come with Captain’s Seats with Swivel Function making it feel like a business class limousine on the road.

Under the hood, the Starex uses a 2.5-liter CRDi VGT diesel engine. Achieving Euro 4 emissions standard, it makes 170 horsepower and 441 Nm of torque. This is mated to a 5-speed automatic with H-matic manual mode.

More than these family-oriented features though, Hyundai has managed to reinvent the Starex.

Through the years, the very same features that make the Hyundai Starex the family comfort vehicle of choice also make it a premium mover of commuters and cargo.

A new cargo version, fitted with a 2.5-liter turbodiesel engine (100 horsepower and 225 Nm of torque) mated to a 5-speed manual joins the line-up starting at P 1.248 million. On the flipside, an 18-seater version is available at P 1.445 million.

And in these times where the health sector is constantly on emergency mode, the Grand Starex Ambulance has helped health professionals to give patients fast and uninterrupted care (price dependent on equipment and configuration).

To sum it up, Hyundai’s all-time favorite van is designed and built to make you the star of your own show in ways that other vans can’t: outstanding comfort with dynamic possibilities.

And now, Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI), the official distributor of Hyundai vehicles in the country, has made it easier for you to shop for one online at HOME.
