Peugeot's New Look Logo Debuts on the 2022 308 Hatchback

After showing off their new “roaring lion” logo, the revamped Peugeot badge has made it onto its first production car: the all-new 2022 308 compact hatchback.

The roaring lion’s head is front and center in the new design together with chiseled LED headlights with vertical LED DRLs. The all-new 308 sports a longer wheelbase (up 55 mm) and is lower (down 20 mm) giving it a sleeker, more powerful stance.

Inside, the all-new 308 gets Peugeot’s next-generation infotainment system called Peugeot i-Connect. The 10-inch screen responds to multi-finger gesture commands, and allows for two phones to be connected at the same time using Bluetooth.

For the driver, the 2022 Peugeot 308 sports a 10-inch digital instrument cluster. Together with the small diameter steering wheel with finger tip controls and a “high-vent architecture” with virtual toggles for the AC and infotainment system, it promotes better ergonomics.

Built on the EMP2 platform, the all-new 308 is 11 mm longer than its predecessor and for that allows better interior room. At the back, the cargo hold offers 412 liters of space, maxing out at 1,323 with the rear seats folded.

Powering the all-new 308 are a variety of gasoline, diesel, and electrified powertrains. For those who want a plug-in option, it comes in two versions both powered by a PureTech gasoline engine combined with an electric motor. The Hybrid 225 gives out 180 horsepower plus 110 horsepower from an electric motor, while the Hybrid 180 does 150 horsepower plus 110 horsepower from an electric motor. Both versions are mated to an 8-speed automatic.

For those who want a conventional engine, the all-new Peugeot 308 comes with a 1.2-liter PureTech 130-horsepower gasoline engine or a 1.5-liter 130-horsepower diesel engine. Again, both of these are mated to an 8-speed automatic.

The centrally-positioned Lion emblem also cleverly hides the radar used for the advanced driver assist technology. In the 2022 Peugeot 308 this includes semi-automatic lane changing, curve speed adaption, long-range blind spot monitoring, a 360-degree camera, and more.

The 2022 Peugeot 308 will still be produced in France. No word whether Peugeot Philippines will offer this model for sale locally in the future.
