ACMobility has partnered with Robinsons Malls to further expand its EV network nationwide. This collaboration supports the growing adoption of electric vehicles by addressing range anxiety and making EV charging more accessible, particularly in key provincial areas.
As an initial deployment, ten EV charging hubs will be launched and all fully operational by the first quarter of this year, each equipped with two 22kW charge points (except for Robinsons Butuan which is equipped with two 7kW charge points). Currently, five hubs are already operational, located in Robinsons Malls in Ilocos Norte (Luzon); Iloilo, Roxas, and Dumaguete (Visayas); and Pagadian (Mindanao).
Soon, additional hub locations are set to open in Luzon and Visayas at Robinsons Tuguegarao, Santiago, La Union; and in Antique.
In Mindanao, Robinsons Iligan, Butuan, and Valencia. Once operational, this station will become one of the northernmost EV charging stations in ACMobility’s growing Philippine EV Spine Network to date.

This partnership supports our broader goal of building a reliable, nationwide charging backbone that addresses range anxiety, strengthens connectivity between cities and provinces, and gives more Filipinos the confidence to adopt EVs as part of their everyday mobility.”
All stations under the network can be easily located using ACMobility’s partner e-mobility service provider, Evro. Evro is an all-in-one EV charging app which offers features such as the Station Finder feature, real-time availability tracking, navigation assistance, and in-app payment options, helping users charge with ease and confidence.
Buencamino said the new charging stations are intended to support the growing number of EV users and encourage more Filipinos, especially those in the provinces, to switch to electric vehicles. She added that this is only the beginning, with more charging infrastructure planned for key cities as demand continues to rise.
“We want to break the misconception that EVs are only suited for city driving. By bringing these facilities closer to regional communities, we are sending a clear message: owning an EV is practical and sustainable, no matter where you live. With Robinsons Malls supporting this cause, we are confident we can bring this infrastructure to more people across the country,” Buencamino shared.
If the photo above showing the AC Charger of 22Kw is the exact charger to be installed at Robinson's Malls then the output of AC 22Kw appears to be excessive, and may cost more in terms of the charger itself and the necessary hardware for the charger's installation.
ReplyDeleteKindly correct me if I'm wrong, but the highest AC Charging vehicle locally is the Tesla Model Y AWD which can only accept from 11.5Kw to 12Kw.
Why then install a 22Kw AC Charger unless they can be, or were acquired, at a very very low price or are already in stock(and do not want to acquire 12Kw or even 15Kw charges at additional expense)?
Tesla's own AC Wall Fast Charger (for home use) only puts out only 12Kw. Most of Tesla's Superchargers are DC only and most put out from 72Kw to 250Kw, with a few that putout up to 500Kw.
In terms of Battery Health, DC fast charging is analogous to one doing fast food as against doing a fresh home cooked meal.
Slow AC charging which takes from 3 to 8 hours, assuming it's practical for one's needs, is less stressful for BEV and PHEV batteries.

Ayala sells EVs, then puts up "charging" (pun intended) stations all around the country. Imagine Petron owning a dealership of internal combustion cars, then "charges" customers whenever they refill fuel.....err they already do this. A win-win to us share holders! Hurrah!
