Nissan X-Trail Returns To The Philippines With Hybrid Power And P 2.290M Price Tag (w/ Specs)

Nissan Philippines brings back the X-Trail as part of its increased push towards electrified products. Thanks to favorable conditions brought on by Executive Order 62 (EO 62), it will do battle against other compact SUVs such as the Honda CR-V e:HEV (read our review), Toyota RAV4 HEV (read our first drive), Hyundai Tucson Hybrid (read our review), and other upcoming entrants such as the Kia Sportage Turbo Hybrid (read our first drive).

Priced at P 2,290,000, the Philippine-spec X-Trail is not to be mistaken for the all-new, fifth-generation model which was already unveiled in Japan, Still the fourth-generation (T33) model (we got to drive this one in Japan, actually), the country does get the most updated design. The exterior design takes on the “Tough Gear” language, but fitted with a gloss black V-motion grille and overfenders. At each corner are 19-inch two-tone alloy wheels.

Exterior features for the solitary variant include full LED lighting, rain-sensing wipers, and a hands-free power tailgate. For the Philippines, it will come in four colors: Cardinal Red Metallic, Stealth Pearl Gray, Everest White, and Sahara Dune Metallic. A “Launch Edition” in Everest White, Stealth Pearl Gray, and Sahara Dune Metallic adds a black roof for a P 30,000 premium.

Underneath, the X-Trail e-Power is powered by Nissan’s e-Power serial hybrid technology. In this case, the 1.5-liter VC-Turbo (Variable Compression Turbo) 3-cylinder only acts as a generator which feeds the 1.85-kWh battery. Tractive effort instead provided by the BM46 AC3 Synchronous Motor providing 204 horsepower and 330 Nm of torque. With a 55-liter fuel tank, the X-Trail e-Power can go up to 1,039 kilometers before needing to refuel (18.9 km/L). Like the Kicks e-Power, it also comes with e-Pedal Step—an almost one-pedal driving mode and three drive modes: Eco, Normal, and Sport.

Inside, the X-Trail e-Power mixes practicality with premium touches. The driver receives a 12.3-inch full digital display, while infotainment duties are handled by a separate 12.3-inch touchscreen display with a 7-speaker system. It comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as wireless chargers and USB Type C ports. For unparalleled comfort, it offers a standard three-zone climate control system with rear vents.

Leather seating with 8-way power adjust for the front occupants is standard, while the rear passengers get added flexibility thanks to a 40/20/40-spilt folding, reclining, and sliding second row. A large 482-liter cargo hold means being able to fit four golf bags. Other standard features include ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, and rear window sunshades.

In terms of safety, the Nissan X-Trail e-Power falls short of getting the full ProPilot suite (no Adaptive Cruise Control or lane keep assist). It goes, however, benefit from a full complement of airbags, ABS with EBD, stability control, a 360-degree camera, forward collision warning with emergency braking, lane departure warning, blind spot warning, and rear cross traffic alert.

The electrified push of Nissan Philippines continues with a slew of other new models such as the Kicks e-Power, Primera EV, and Frontier Pro PHEV.

  1. Poor Filipino consumers, this is already a 5 yr old outgoing model that's just been launched locally. The Bose sound system & the Adaptive cruise control was removed as well. Pretty good pricing though and i'm sure Nissan PH will give out generous discounts

  2. 2026 launch. Mainstream brand and popular segment. No adaptive cruise control. W.t.f. Nissan?

Unfortunately you are correct on the lawsuits.

For those considering Nissan vehicles, it's best to Google
"Nissan Lawsuits" and "Nissan Lawsuits Europe" .

Of course many will claim that anything derogatory on Nissan is propaganda, fake news, etc., so the readers should verify
whatever they read about Nissan, as well as anything, and everything out there.
