In celebration of World EV Day, Kia Philippines, a subsidiary of ACMobility, has confirmed that the EV3 and PV5 are launching just a month apart.
“World EV Day is a reminder that sustainable driving is rapidly transforming into the standard for modern Filipino roads,” says Jay Lopez, Managing Director of Kia Philippines. “Our growing EV lineup, which includes the EV5 and EV9 as well as the upcoming EV3 and PV5, provides drivers with purpose-built electric technology and versatile space designed for their daily lives.”
The EV3 is launching first in September, roughly two years after the Korean automaker first announced its intention to bring it into the ASEAN market. It will be joined by the PV5 in October.
A recipient of the 2025 World Car of the Year, the EV3 rides on a front-wheel drive derivative of the E-GMP platform. Based on government filings, the EV3 will come in two variants, the GL and GLS, both equipped with a single front-mounted electric motor producing 204 horsepower (150 kW) and 283 Nm of torque.
It’s confirmed to use a 58.3-kWh battery pack which can be juiced up to 11 kW on AC (5 hours 20 minutes on a full charge) and 350 kW on DC (29 minutes for a full charge) using the CCS Type 2 charging standard. It will also have V2L capability.
Measuring in at 4,300 mm in length, 1,850 mm in width, and 1,560 mm in height, the EV3 sports a 2,680 mm wheelbase. Wearing Kia’s “Opposites United” aesthetics, the EV3’s design highlights aero efficiency with its active air flap technology and boat-tail shape cutting its co-efficient of drag to just 0.263.
The interior design provides a “living room feel” with an array of usability features designed to make every journey comfortable and convenient. The clean, uncluttered dashboard has a triple-screen panoramic display. This combines a 12.3-inch touchscreen navigation screen and a 12.3-inch driver display screen, sandwiching a 5.3-inch segment display for climate control.
A month after the EV3’s launch, Kia Philippines will also introduce the Kia PV5 (read our First Impressions). The first Korean model to receive the International Van of the Year award, it will roll out first in a cargo variant which is directly catered to local businesses, fleet management, and commercial transport.
Based also on government filings, the PV5 will be available in Standard and Extended Range versions, both being the “Long” version measuring in at 4,695 mm in length, 1,895 mm in width, and 1,899 mm in height.
Both variants of the PV5 are also powered by a front-mounted electric motor generating 163 horsepower (120 kW) and 250 Nm of torque. The main difference between these two variants would be the battery size with the Standard Range version sporting a 51.5 kWh battery, while the Extended Range version has a 71.2-kWh battery.
Style-wise, the PV5 continues with Kia’s Opposites United philosophy. Transcending the styling of traditional MPVs or vans, it fuses the high-tech with ease of repair. For example, the curvaceous rear front bumper is made up of three sections, allowing the corners (the most vulnerable part), to be replaced independently of the front piece. The same goes for the compound headlights which place the DRLs high above the face, while the main beams are located lower.
Kia’s EV lineup, which also includes the EV5 and EV9, is supported by ACMobility’s growing network of EV charging hubs, now accessible in over 200 locations across the Philippines. By connecting the Philippine EV Spine from Pagudpud in the north to General Santos City in the South, ACMobility is giving more Filipino drivers the confidence that they can now “charge anywhere, drive everywhere.”

Good move AC, sooner or later BYD will dump you anyway
