Face Shield Required on All Forms of Public Transport Starting August 15

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) will now be requiring face shields for everyone taking public transportation starting August 15, 2020.

Detailed in Memorandum Circular 2020-14, the DOTr is mandating the use of face shields as well as face masks for all passengers in all public transport sectors—land, sea, or air effective Saturday, August 15. It covers all community quarantine areas whether MECQ, GCQ, or MGCQ. You can check out a copy of the said memorandum circular below.

It must be remembered that the IATF is studying the mandatory use of face shields aside from face masks to curb the spread of COVID-19 as part of its basic health and safety protocol, but this move of the DOTr is the first solid step in that direction.
