All-New Toyota Crown Set For A Global Return This July 15

After earlier reports that seem to confirm the Crown’s return as a global model, Toyota has now started teasing the all-new SUV. Set for a global debut this July 15, the 2023 model marks the nameplate’s switch from a luxury sedan to a luxury crossover.

Though Toyota has yet to reveal anything solid about its Crown, patent filings suggest that it’ll retain a swoopy sedan-like three-box profile, but with a high ground clearance. Toyota has all but confirmed that by literally asking if the all-new Crown is a sedan or an SUV in its teasers.

Leaked patent drawing suggest that it will get full-width lighting elements for both the front and back. It will also be an imposing car too with an overall length of 4,930 mm, width of 1,840 mm, and a wheelbase stretching to 2,850 mm. It’s said to ride on the TNGA-K platform—shared with the Lexus NX/RX and the Toyota RAV4/Highlander—and will reportedly come with both hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains.

So far, Toyota has confirmed that the all-new Crown will be sold in its major market such as Japan, North America, and even China. With the all-new Toyota Crown now a global model, should Toyota Motor Philippines bring it back to the local market?
