Toyota is probably only car brand capable of hitting the 10,000 units a month sales range consistently. Just last January, the country’s number one automaker managed to move 13,428 units or a 45.42 percent market share. Their closest rival, Mitsubishi is way behind with just 17 percent market share (5,030 units sold).
At a glance, those numbers already look crazy big, but let’s put things into perspective.
Picking out their best-selling vehicle, the Vios, Toyota managed to sell 2,598 of them in a single month alone; that’s more than what both Mazda (1,591) and Subaru (1,124) sold the entire 2022! Just the best-selling Vios variant alone—the 1.3 E CVT—sold 2,103 units! Bonkers, right?
Even when it comes to more niche products like the Camry. Toyota sold 15 of them in just a month—that is almost the Honda Accord’s entire 2022 sales (18 units).
Elsewhere, the Innova continues to be Toyota’s best-selling Commercial Vehicle (CV) with the best-selling variant being the 2.8 E AT with 953 sold, followed by the 2.8 J MT with 137 units. The Fortuner sold 1,003 units with Pinoy buyers almost evenly split between the 2.4 4x2 G AT (287) and 2.4 4x2 V AT (224).
The Hilux, meanwhile, sold 1,261 units with the 4x2 Conquest AT being the top choice (278) followed by the 4x4 Conquest AT (209). By comparison, Nissan sold 924 Navaras, while Ford sold 874 Rangers in January. For Nissan, the best-selling variant was the Navara VE Calibre 4x2 AT with 300 sold, followed by the Navara 4x4 Pro-4X with 243. On the other hand, for the Ranger, it was the Wildtrak 4x4 with 267 sold followed by the Ranger Wildtrak 4x2 with 171 units.
When it comes to Lexus models, the best-selling nameplate last month was the Lexus ES which sold 26 units. This is followed by the Lexus IS with 19 sold with an overwhelming number going for the IS 300h (17 units).

Take that kingkuchi😎😎😎
ReplyDeleteToyota selling vehicles in the Philippine market with two decade old engines, mediocre CVT,awful ride quality, poor NVH,gas guzzling (hello Rush) and interior plastics of its vehicles similar to a 1990's Chinese and American cars 😂😂😂
ReplyDeleteToyota also tolerate hoarders and scalpers who buy Hiace Super Grandia,Alphard and LC300 and then sell it at very high prices 😂
Toyota is the equivalent of Suzuki Maruti 😂
🤔🤔🤔....bitter!
DeleteKingkuchi888 is Miles and miles bitter🤧🤧🤧 for the ever reliable/durable toyota being no.1 here in ph and also no.1 in the WORLD
DeleteWalang benta ahente ng honda. Kawawa lol
DeleteIf only Honda Cars Philippines allowed its vehicles to be used in public transport utility businesses then for sure they'll easily beat the mediocre and slow Vios,Wigo,Avanza and Veloz in terms of sales.😂
ReplyDeleteLots of Wigo owners here on carguide.ph 😂👍
Sigurado ka?
DeleteToyota reliable?😂No wonder they're kings of multiple recalls, rattling interior noises of the low quality DNGA vehicles and falling wheels of BZ4X 😂
ReplyDeleteSales of Toyota in China and India aren't even good..Vios failed badly in China and India 😂
Toyota vehicles last a lifetime and easy to maintain. No.1 in ph, no. 1 in the world, numbers DONT LIE! 10M toyota vehicles sold every year...10M...in your face kingkuchi🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
DeleteGo king kuliglig!!! Tama yan! Don't let the system dictate your thoughts! Fight it!
DeleteSinungaling ka King Kuliglig aka kuchi888! My sister owns a Raize Turbo, nadadrive ko paminsan minsan. Walang rattling noise ang Raize na DNGA. Tsaka anong sinasabi mo na mabagal?? Matulin kaya ang Raize Turbo. Actual power feel is similar to oir former Mazda 2 hatchback na pinalitan ng Raize Turbo.
DeleteStop trolling this website will 'ya? Baka laitin mo ako kasi naka Raize Turbo kami. FYI, our garage consist of the Raize Turbo, Fortuner GR Sport, BMW X1, Lexus NX200t, Navara, Wigo and Starex
@JC bakit kailangan niyo ng sobrang daming sasakyan?
DeleteAnonymous 10:14 pm, kasi we are 6 in the family. We have our own cars. Yung Wigo is the service car. Tsaka we habe the money and means to buy those cars.
Wag kang mang gaslight dito. Kung pangit ang Raize eh di sana ang dami naming reklamo at binenta namin agad at pinalitan ng mas maganda na kotse tulad ng mga binibida mong Chinese cars. Simple as that!
Uly, pakiban na itong King Kuliglig na ito para tumino na website mo. Nakarindi na
No one's buying the Yaris :/
ReplyDeleteOut of stock and hard to get and buy since last year.
DeleteI don't think we can compare the vios vs mazda & subaru vehicles in terms of total number of units sold as they are in different categories and market. The vios in terms of qty or number units sold may overwelm both mazda & subaru but in terms of cost there is a big difference for the vios with less than 1M ave price vs mazda & subaru w/ ave price of +/-2M/unit.
ReplyDeleteI guess Filipinos really dislike the Yaris.
ReplyDeleteExpensive hatchback version of the Vios
DeleteBetter buy a Kia Stonic or City Hatchback instead
Yes agree! The Yaris is a good car as hatchback but the price.....tsk tsk
DeleteIt'll be retained for at least three or more years in SEA market
DeleteYou will be a fool to buy an overpriced Yaris which is a chopped Vios. Back then Yaris is cheaper than the Vios then pricing became a bit strange.
ReplyDeleteThanks Uly, nice to see my Lexus ES 350 on that stat sheet.
ReplyDeleteOh I thought Kuchi888 told us that T-Cross sold much more than the Raize that he kept on criticizing about with zero basis lol
ReplyDeleteAbout time for Toyota Ph to bring in more electrified models, particularly BEVs.
ReplyDeleteBZ4X ain't coming yet likely due to the production defects of it aside from it's very steep price..New Prius is likely coming but most likely priced now at 2.4 Million Pesos or more.
DeleteInnova Zenix Hybrid is the one coming to the local market this year
