Chery Auto Philippines adds a new top-of-the-line variant of its best-selling Tiggo 8 Pro. Imbued with a strong, yet fuel efficient electrified powertrain and a host of advanced technology features, the 2023 Tiggo 8 Pro e+ now serves as the brand’s flagship offering.
Priced at P 2.698 million (and exempt from the number coding scheme), the Tiggo 8 Pro e+ features Chery’s “three-in-one” engine that combines a turbocharged gasoline engine with two electric motors. The 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine itself delivers 156 horsepower and 230 Nm of torque, but thanks to two additional electric motors—one putting out 74 horsepower and 160 Nm, and the other 95 horsepower and 155 Nm, it outputs a total of 320 horsepower and 545 Nm of torque.
According to the automaker, the Tiggo 8 Pro e+ allows a 0 to 100 km/h in less than 7 seconds, while still returning close to 77 km/L thanks to its 19.27-kWh lithium-ion battery. For short trips of up to 95 kilometers, it consumes no fuel thanks to an all-electric range of 95 kilometers. Moreover, keeping the battery topped up costs just P 173 and can be done using a common ungrounded 220-volt household outlet.
More than just the engine, Chery has bolted it onto their revolutionary Dedicated Hybrid Transmission or DHT which offers the equivalent of 11 speeds. The carmaker has computed this by combining the combustion engine’s standard CVT gearbox with a two-speed dual clutch. This gearbox, Chery says, offers “near infinite gear combinations.” This means that whether the driver wants the lowest fuel consumption, the highest performance, the best towing capabilities or any other application specific use, the transmission can deliver.
Differentiating the Tiggo 8 Pro e+ from the Tiggo 8 Pro PHEV, it comes fully equipped with 12 advanced driver assist systems or ADAS, ventilated driver and front passenger seat, a smart power tailgate, and wireless mobile charger. In addition, its 12.3-inch Apple CarPlay / Android Auto-equipped infotainment system now comes with intelligent voice command allowing drivers to adjust several vehicle features without having to take their hands off the wheel.
The Tiggo 8 Pro PHEV and Tiggo 8 Pro e+ is just the first of many brand-new “new energy” (aka electrified) models coming from Chery Auto. The carmaker has confirmed that they will launch new offerings which will cover “multiple markets.”
I think ph car consumers is not yet ready to embrace any china homegrown cars thats above 2m. Maybe in a decade or two...
ReplyDeleteMaybe if people started reading they will know all EVs started from China. Cherry has a JV with Range Rover. And so forth.
ReplyDeleteWHAT??? All EV's has started in china??? Thats the most hilarious joke ive ever heard. Elong mask tesla is already half way on its way to mars🤣🤣🤣. EV,s has been produced in europe in US decades ago, but it didnt fly then because the battery tech was not yet mature. Western car makers not fool to share all dear know how to JV(actually forced to jv)
DeleteI don't know who "Elong Mask" is but he sounds like a person with a long nosed mask. I don't know the relevance of you stating Space X on the discussion about EVs, and I don't know your sources stating "Europe" as a forerunner in the EV industry. EVs is not new, Google it, it was invented in the late 1800s. If you are pertaining to the recent couple of decades, 1990s Toyota Prius, 2000s Tesla Roadster, 2010s Nissan Leaf and BYD (China), and the rest is history. EU and US didn't have a monopoly on EVs, Japanese and Chinese car makers were right in the thick of it.
DeleteUpdate...elong mask tesla roadster has already orbited mars💫💫💫
DeleteI dont knew why you said that i mention space x here, maybe you just got too emotional. And in case you dont knew the relevance of elong mask tesla in EV's...? well....elong mask tesla3 roadster is already a galaxy star. Maybe now you will knew elong mask relevance to EV's
DeleteIts not beliitling other country...just choosing the right reliable products for hard earned money. Pnoys car buyers not dumb, thats why they will not buy unreliable china home grown cars with junk resale value
ReplyDeleteNot every one is concerned of resale value as not everyone sells their cars right after they pay off the 3-5 year mortgages. Value for money for the features you get while you use the vehicle, for some consumers is ROI enough. I'm also sure most of you commenting here are using China made phones so I don't know where the hate is coming from. If haven't haven't tried or owned a product and you're basing your opinion on gossip, that makes you a Marites, right?
ReplyDeleteIphone made in china is still wholly owned by apple usa, so quality is assured. Dears no hate here...people just expressing opinion, we are democracy exercising freedom of specs. Just buy what you want, its your money after all.
ReplyDeleteAnd by the way dont get too sensitive, different people has different ideas, opinion, humors and perspective in life. U see here kingkongchi always bashing toyota and always praising china homegrown cars, but thats his perspective...so let it be. Were lucky that here in ph we have freedom of specs✌✌✌
ReplyDeleteChery dealerships are already giving away cash discounts for this PHEV SUV in order to sell more units..
ReplyDeleteTiggo 8 Pro got lots of variants which is good..Chery Philippines isn't afraid of selling vehicles which is good..Shame that MG and Chery are stuck selling vehicles below 2 Million Peso price and won't go above it.
Business 101...market strategy.
DeleteNot sure if it's you're telling too sensitive. I was stating facts not feelings. Most consumer products, including electronics are made in China or have parts sourced from China. In essence, a lot of what you are using right now in one way or another is made in China. Now Chinese cars bashers are basing their stereotypes on older Chinese car releases. Very baseless. Again, facts not feelings.
ReplyDeleteChery & Jetour are among the worst in reliability in a recent china car news. Buyer beware.
