We’re still waiting for confirmation whether Nissan Philippines has greenlit the arrival of the Magnite, Nissan has revealed a second Made in India global SUV: the Nissan Tekton.
Set to do battle with the likes of the MG ZS, Suzuki Fronx, Hyundai Creta, and Kia Seltos, the Tekton will be unveiled in 2026. It’s confirmed to be a model developed in partnership with Renault (it’s said to be a platform mate of the Renault Duster). It will also be exported from Nissan’s Chennai plant to global markets.
The name itself is of Greek origin, meaning “craftsman” or “architect.” According to the brand:
It aligns with Nissan’s ethos of precision engineering and innovation that enriches lives. The name signifies a powerful, premium SUV that embodies engineering excellence, performance, and a distinctive design identity. The Tekton will be a choice for those who are “shaping their world” through their careers, passions, or lifestyles.
Ahead of its full unveil, Nissan has revealed teaser photos and shared that the Tekton draws inspiration from the Patrol. As such, it will feature a bold aesthetic with robust reliability, premium craftsmanship, and a suite of advanced technology features.
At the front, a powerfully sculpted hood and distinctive C-shaped head lamp signature—reminiscent of the Patrol—pair with robust lower bumper to create a commanding and imposing presence that belies the vehicle’s size.
The side profile features an imposing, muscular stance, designed to create an unmistakable silhouette on the road. Paying homage to the region, the front doors of the Tekton feature a ‘Double-C’ shaped accent, incorporating a subtle mountain range motif inspired by the Himalayas.
At the rear, an available vibrant red illuminated lightbar spans the width of the vehicle, conveying a sense of sturdiness and connecting the ‘C-shaped’ tail-lamps. The Tekton nameplate is prominently displayed across the tailgate below.

Is the model name really gonna be that big on the front? Because that's certainly...a choice.
ReplyDeleteThat hood badge is too in your face…
ReplyDeleteHave to pass on Indian made vehicles
ReplyDeleteThe name sounds so INDIAn
ReplyDeleteShould this be sold in PH, this may eventually complete the trio of A to C segment SUVs. But hopefully Magnite (A-SUV) and XTrail (C-SUV) will also come in soon. Nissan is so slow in releasing new models. Magnite is already in facelift stage and still no show. Would this be the fate also for Tekton (B-SUV if same size as Seltos and Creta)?
