Tesla Has Now Sold More Than 2,000 Vehicles In The Philippines

Less than one year after it officially launched in the Philippines, Tesla has reported that it has managed to sell more than 2,000 Model 3 EV sedans and Model Y EV SUVs in the country. And to keep the momentum going, Tesla Philippines has announced special incentives.

The Model Y—the world’s best-selling vehicle—is now available with monthly installments as low as P 38,810 (estimated daily payment of P 1,152) for five years made through Tesla’s preferred banking partners. In addition, it receives one year of complimentary comprehensive insurance coverage.

The Model Y is a practical SUV with 2,130 liters of storage as well as 600 kilometers of range. And with access to Tesla’s Supercharging network, it can add 283 kilometers of range in just 15 minutes. This is on top of the highest safety rating across four continents.

For companies and association who want to consider going electric, Tesla Philippines’ Green Mobility program offers a P 30,000 incentive.

Meanwhile, for current Tesla customers, the Refer & Earn program will offer P 13,000 in new vehicle incentives for the referee and P 6,500 worth of benefits for the referrer.

Tesla currently operates two permanent locations at the Tesla Center BGC at the Uptown Parade, Bonifacio Global City and the Atrium of the Opus Mall in Bridgetowne, Quezon City. They will also be at the Glorietta Activity Center from October 8 to 17 and at the Powerplant Mall from October 16 to 17.

  2. I wonder who the biggest losers (car brands) are with Tesla’s growing customer base. I’m assuming they’re capturing a share of the market from the premium and luxury segments given their price positioning, and those segments don’t really have much volume to begin with.

    1. Hmmm...baka you're violating some T&C from Tesla PH if you do?

  4. Most likely initial orders fulfilled.
EV is still not a good option considering the current infrastructure and the government is not interested to support EV road map anymore

Why would you buy EV if the charging fee is same as ICE fuel cost

    1. That's why you buy a Tesla. Tesla Destination Chargers (P16/kWh) and Superchargers (P19/kWh) are considerably cheaper to use compared to ACMo's Evro Chargers (AC: P28.5/kWh, DC: P35/kWh).

    4. Re: the Tesla charging rates vs Evro charging rates? Those seem correct.

  5. Well, if you have solar panels at home especially if there is an excess capacity and using the Tesla daily to only drive around the city, then you can save a lot of money.

    2. I remember seeing a short segment on the news a while back of Vice Ganda buying a Cybertruck. Though, I personally think it's ugly and a waste of money, I think it's available for customers who ask for it (probably with extra shipping fees).

  7. You'd buy an EV because most of your charging would be done at home. Fast charging outside would be the rare unforseen necessity (unless planned for like for a long road trip - even then hindi ka pa rin talo sa price).

Also, many people report their savings as big enough to substantially subtract from their monthly payments, so that's definitely a plus.

  9. If you're considering an EV or HEV now, I think ponying up to the base Model 3 or Model Y makes sense when budgeting as much as the price range of BYDs and DNGA Toyotas. The confidence of driving a Tesla simply doesn't compare to the above-mentioned.

    1. Do you think the many issues Tesla has had (and reported by US media) have stopped? Because I've heard/read/watched a lot of coverage that does not lend me confidence.
