Deepal Opens First Philippines Showroom

Deepal Philippines, distributed by Autohub Group, has opened its first showroom in the country. They also held a ceremonial turnover of their first units to its customers in the same event, showing that Filipinos are ready for the Range-Extended Electric Vehicle (REEV) lineup they have.

Deepal Autohub Shaw is the flagship showroom of the brand. It looks modest from the outside, given the slim facade of the building, but its lengthwise structure gives it a lot of room for business. The show floor can display around 8 to 9 cars easily while having ample area for customer lounges and their employees. There’s also a massive service area at the back that has eight service bays with more space for storage.

Present in the inauguration are Autohub Group President and Deepal Autohub Shaw Dealer Principal Willy Tee Ten, Deepal Philippines General Manager Mark Gabriel, Changan Auto Southeast Asia Vice Director Leslie Wu, Mandaluyong Vice Mayor Anthony Suva, and Mandaluyong Mayor Carmelita Abalos.

Apart from the inauguration, Deepal also released the first units in their flagship showroom. They said these are mostly reservations from the 2026 Manila International Auto Show, along with the deals made after their official launch in the country.

A total of 12 units were turned over to customers, with only two of them being the G318 SUV. The rest are different configurations of the S05 REEV crossover in different colors. The S05 is the entry-level offering in the lineup priced at P 1,688,000. It features a 27.28 kWh battery and has a total output of 215 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque. Its pure electric range is at 170 kilometers, while combined range is at 1,234 kilometers.

When asked about the maintenance of these cars, Willy Tee Ten implied they’re easier to maintain than other forms of hybrid. This is because unlike in series, parallel, or plug-in hybrids, the combustion engine in a range-extended electric vehicle doesn’t take over the propulsion of the wheels. All it does is charge the batteries at a fixed rate and so the wear and tear of the parts are slower.

Tee Ten said there are many 56 more units waiting to be released, with more orders pending for stocks.

Deepal Philippines is also in the works of building more showrooms throughout the country.

  1. Why does it look like De Epal. They really need to change their name.
