Amid a challenging period for the Philippine automotive industry, Chery Auto Philippines continues to demonstrate strong market momentum, recording a 47.5 percent year-over-year growth as consumers increasingly shift toward fuel-efficient and electrified mobility solutions.
Although CAMPI has yet to reveal any official data for April 2026, Chery’s pronouncement means their January to April 2026 sales have grown to 552 units (basing off January to April 2025’s 379-unit officially tally).
Chery Auto Philippines emerged as one of the market’s winners as car buyers looked for fuel-efficient transportation.
Leading the brand’s performance is the Chery Tiggo rEV, which accounted for 57 percent of Chery’s total year-to-date sales. The Tiggo rEV’s strong reception highlights the increasing preference among Filipino motorists for alternative energy vehicles amid continued fuel price volatility.
“The current market environment has accelerated consumer interest in practical, value-driven mobility solutions,” Chery Auto Philippines Brand Head Franz Decloedt said.
The current industry landscape has also shown the growing competitiveness of emerging automotive brands that offer high-value products and alternative energy solutions. Consumers are becoming more fuel-conscious and are prioritizing vehicles that deliver lower operating costs and better overall efficiency.
“As fuel prices remain elevated, more customers are recognizing the long-term benefits of hybrid and electric vehicles, and the Chery Tiggo rEV has become a compelling option for Filipino families seeking efficiency without compromising comfort and technology,” UAAGI Deputy Director Joshua Sytin said.
As the brand evolves, Chery’s brand promise now focuses on “For the Family,” reflecting its commitment to providing safe, practical, spacious, comfortable, and technology-driven mobility solutions designed for everyday Filipino journeys.
“For the Family is not just a slogan, it’s a promise that we safeguard the peace of mind and joy on every journey through trusted quality and thoughtful technology,” Chery Auto CEO Jeff Zhang
With its expanding electrified lineup and customer-focused value proposition, Chery Auto Philippines remains optimistic about sustaining its growth trajectory despite broader market headwinds.
As United Asia Automotive Group, Inc. (UAAGI) enters its 20th year of automotive expertise and aftersales reliability in the Philippines this 2027, Chery Auto Philippines likewise plans to introduce more vehicle models that will continue to address the evolving needs of the Filipino family, further strengthening the brand’s long-term commitment to the local market.

Hope Chery brings back the QQ where Coca Cola used to own a lot.
