After launching a commemorative collection celebrating the MX-5 in 2025, Mazda and Spingle are back at it again. This time, they’re selling a new line of collaborative sneakers called the SP-MZD.
Both based in Hiroshima and both committed to craftsmanship, the Spingle SP-MZD reflects the simple and beautiful form of Mazda vehicles. The SP-MZD follows the natural curve of the foot, specifically its soft, arching shape. Unique to the SP-MZD, it has a raised heel section allowing for the smoother switching between accelerator and brake pedals.
Whereas the SP-MX5 came in bold colors, the SP-MZD comes in two, more subdued colors: Black on Black and Sport Tan on Black. Sport Tan, in particular, is a shade similar to the one found in the all-new CX-5. The upper material is made of kangaroo leather, while a suede material is used to reinforce the connection between the upper and lower sole.
The SP-MZD is unisex and comes in seven sizes: XS (22.5cm), SS (23.5cm), S (24.5cm), M (25.5cm), L (26.5cm), LL (27.5cm), and XL (28.5cm).
Sales have already started for the SP-MZD at the Mazda Online Shop. It will also be made available at Spingle Ginza, the men’s shoe department on B1F of Isetan Shinjuku, and the official Spingle online store.
