Could this be one of the most unconventional police car in the Philippines? Meet the VinFast VF 3 police patrol car which is now serving the municipality of Noveleta in Cavite.
The VF 3 may be primarily designed for school runs, grocery trips, and day commutes. But like some police agencies in Indonesia and now, in the Philippines, the mini EV SUV has been put to work to serve and to protect.
Recently, Noveleta in Cavite became the first municipality in the CALABARZON region to adopt the VF 3 as a patrol vehicle. The two units, supplied by VinFast Marikina and Xentro, will be joined by additional units in the near future.
The VF 3 units will conduct patrol operations while helping reduce the police force’s operating costs and fuel consumption.
Noveleta, Cavite joins Indonesia’s National Traffic Police Corps which use the VF 3 as a mobile drone transport vehicle for its Precision Drone Patrol ETLE program. The program is a technology-driven initiative that uses drones to monitor traffic conditions and even identify traffic violations.
In both use cases, the VF 3 has certain advantages including its compact size (3,190 mm long, 1,679 mm wide, and 1,652 mm high) making it perfect for navigating crowded city streets or squeezing through narrow roads.
Moreover, being a BEV, it produces no tailpipe emissions and promises lower day-to-day costs and maintenance. The all-electric VF 3 can be driven at up to 215 kilometers on a single full charge and can be topped up from 10 to 70 percent in just 36 minutes using a DC fast charger.
It also comes with a 7-year or 160,000-kilometer vehicle warranty and a 10-year battery warranty. It also benefits from the brand’s growing service network and free charging program at V-Green charging stations, helping reduce ownership costs even further.
The use of the VF 3 as public service vehicles is yet another milestone to what is already one of VinFast’s biggest success stories.
In its home market of Vietnam, VinFast has maintained its position as that country’s best-selling automotive brand for 20 consecutive months. Among the strongest contributors to that achievement has been the VF 3. Last month alone, VinFast delivered 4,770 VF 3 units, bringing cumulative VF 3 deliveries to 20,231 vehicles during the first five months of the year.
